Hello, Elle!
The sun is out now, looks like it will be a nice day!
Your builders sound like the real McCoy!
Why not ask for a quote when the plumbers have finished?
I see your parse for 9a, and agree that "a tie" is "a lace".
What about "art" though?
Surely that means "are".
Would "are you" not be "art thou"?
7d I am not sure of.
"PR" may be "spin", with "of it"?
However, I do know the parse to 3d!!
A "consistory" is an ecclesiastical court.
Decieves is "cons", one is "l", and a fabrication is a "story".
I think I'll head out for a wee dander soon, while it is such a nice morning.

Hi, Rusty!
A quick reply then, Rusty, if you are going out....as we shall be leaving ourselves at half eleven to meet our daughter and family.
And I may just catch you!
Yes, I meant "art" for "are"..... I was careless in what I put!
And my parsing may of course be wrong?
I don't understand 7d? but follow the parsing for "consistory"....
Thank you!
Right, I must go and get changed.
It is pouring with rain here now! We shall get wet!
Enjoy your walk!
Talk later......

Hello, Elle!
Right, I see!
Perhaps the word "you" in 9a is not needed?
Or perhaps it would not make sense without it?
Anyway, we'll put it behind us!
I do not twig 7d too, Elle, I'm afraid.
I think the spin could be "PR" (public relations), with "of it".
Could "of it" mean "gain"?
"Gain" from "PR"?
Not sure of this one, at all!
Hope you and family have a grand time!

Hi, Rusty!
We are home again.....
Yes, we have had a great time , thank you.
It was good to see everyone, and to hear firsthand from BB and YB about their holiday in Swanage!
I have been told I shall have a good time in the "penny arcades"!
(which I am sure must no longer cost a mere "penny"!)
We went to the Toby Carvery, which was BB's choice.
Did you get far on your walk?
I hope the rain held off?
We have been having what the forecast termed "light showers" !
I still have the Athletics Grand Prix to watch...…
Did you see any of it?

Good evening, Elle!
Well done on your outing!
Are there still penny arcades!
A long time since I was in one of them.
No, I walked for about thirty minutes, that's all.
And not too briskly!
I saw no athletics, Elle.
My TV was off all day.
I had an easy day doing very little!

Hi, Rusty!
It sounds as though an easy day was just what you needed!
So why not?
I have been playing catch up and watching the Athletics.......
Three hours, though, proved too long for me to watch...so I have "saved" the rest to view tomorrow.
It is good to see Adam Gemili back on form, from injury, and running well.
He was beaten to first place in the 100m by Yohan Blake, by only an eight thousandth of a second!
I enjoyed the Everyman today..
There were some great ....very clever...clues.
I wonder will the plumbers' ordered part arrive tomorrow?
I am unsure from where they will need to collect it.
I doubt we shall see the guys back here before Tuesday or Wednesday, though.

Hello, Elle!
An easy day was what I've had, yes!
I believe Dina Asher-Smith ran very well today?
Yes, Everyman seems to be very popular, on here, anyway.
I would imagine the part will be at the plumbers merchants.
That's the way it is here, anyway.
I have been on YouTube and I found a singer I really like.
Her name is Sissel, and to make it even better for me, she is backed by a hero of mine, Paddy Moloney, on tin flute.
Paddy is founder member and leader of the Chieftains.
What do you think of it?

Hi, Rusty!
I did not get as far as watching Dina Asher-Smith.
I know she was racing against the likes of Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce.......
I shall no doubt come to that event tomorrow,
I shall look forward to seeing what happens!
Now, your YouTube link?
I can watch it.....but cannot hear it?
I do not know why there is a problem.... according to the icons, I do have the sound "on", and turned up as far as it will go....... but nothing is coming forth!
Any ideas?

Update, Rusty!
As you were...panic over with!
I had checked the volume settings on my computer, and all was well there.
But have now discovered that the speaker behind the desk top was switched off!
I have no idea how or why......
But all is now rectified!
I think Sissel is wonderful...and I have always loved "Shenandoah".
Thank you for the recording.
