Hi, Rusty!
I have finished the Everyman, with a bit of multi-tasking going on besides!
It was reasonably straightforward today, with a moon theme celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the first moon landing.
I have just printed out the Sunday Times Cryptic, so shall attempt that before the start of the Athletics.
I hope the cycling goes smoothly (safely) with no accidents today.....
Will you be channel hopping between that and the golf?
Clouding over here, too, at the moment...what a change from earlier.

Hello, Elle!
Well done on your Everyman!
Not a puzzle I've ever tried.
Yes, channel hopping between EuroSport 1, and Sky Golf!
Oh, I'm sure the stage won't pass without somebody falling off.
Hopefully be happy landings, though!
It is fairly windy at Portrush, now. Perfect!

Hi, Rusty!
Both crosswords, and a few jobs, all finished in time for me to watch the Athletics!
I am well organised!
It should be a good afternoon!
Maybe you will get chance to look in on the Anniversary Games ......but you sound very involved already, with both the golf and the cycling!
Now I am not going to answer the telephone....callers may assume I am out!!!

Hello, Elle!
The golf and cycling are enough for me!
Everyone in cagoules at Portrush.
Tour going OK.
Fingers crossed for Alaphilippe.
Hope his team is strong enough to defend the jersey.

Hi, Rusty!
Phew! I have run a lot of races.......jumped a lot of hurdles......thrown a lot of discos......
It was a good afternoon's viewing and I did enjoy it!
I did, of course, answer the telephone...….
I was but joking, when I said I would ignore its ringing!
Shortly, I shall flick through the recording, and find the half-hour section that I missed.
Dina Asher- Smith did very well, coming a close second to Shelly- Ann Fraser-Pryce, whom it seems impossible to beat, the marvellous way she is running at present.
And your bete noire (I cannot do accents) Lynsey Sharp ran very well in the 800m.
I am afraid, though, that her past behaviour always colours the way I view her now.
How is your own pursuit of sporting activities going?
How is Alaphilippe getting on?

This is the second time I have typed out a reply...the first disappeared into the ether!

Oops, Rusty!
I haven't, of course been holding wild raves...I made a typing error!
I should have put "discUs"!

Good evening, Elle!
I read about Shelly-Anne and Dina.
Excellent runs from the two of them!
I can't be doing with Lynsey Sharp, I'm afraid.
Alaphilippe is still in yellow, though he lost a bit of time.
His team are not the best for a grand tour, and he is often isolated from them.
They are more suited to the one day classics, which Alaphilippe has won three of this year.
He is known as "LouLou", apparently!
I'd like to see a Frenchman winning.
A fan ran alongside Peter Sagan and asked him to sign his biography!
No problem to Sagan!
The Open golf was great, the weather was wet and windy, a proper test on a great course.
Shane Lowry won by several strokes.
There won't be a cow milked in County Offaly tonight!

Good evening, Rusty!
I have just been talking to my cousin.
She is doing well after her (left) hand operation on Tuesday , although having to wear a splint, and sometimes also a sling.
It will all take time, but will help the pain and mobility in the long run.
Alaphilippe is doing well.....
"LouLou" is a strange nickname ? Any idea why he is so called?
I am glad you are enjoying the golf, too.
It has been a good day all round for Sports coverage.
These proverbial cows are always getting a mention.....either because they are slow in coming home......or because they will never be milked!
I meant to say.......I haven't had any trouble at all with ReCaptcha for about a fortnight now.....I've only had to tick the box!
I wonder if Ash has adjusted a setting?

Hello, Elle!
Hope your cousin heals quickly.
I do not know why "LouLou" is his nickname.
Maybe a French thing?
Many years ago, Raymond Poulidor was a great French cycling hero and was known as "PouPou".
Maybe a connection?
ReCaptcha does not bother me on my Chromebook, I only tick a box.
Often on my tablet, I have to find fire hydrants, etc, though.

Hi, Rusty!
Uhm... well, I can see how the nickname "PouPou" was derived .....but not so why "Lou Lou"...... no obvious play on the cyclist's name there?
Maybe the reason will come to light as Le Tour continues?
I am reading a book by Dick Francis, that I came across when at Polhill Garden Centre last week.
I had thought that I had read all his books, but this one had somehow escaped me.
I am enjoying it.....it is light and entertaining, with the usual slant about horse racing and detection.
It is good to curl up on the sofa with a good book at the end of a tiring (remember all those races) day!
