You're right, elle. I thought that the Windows Mail bundled with Windows 10 had taken over from Outlook, but both are still available (though apparently you have to pay for the latter as an add-on.)

Hello, Elle!
Why could you not use your own email site to contact the service engineer?
Using a different one may complicate things.
Well, how's this for coincidence?
I am a-waiting a service engineer, too!
Two of my radiators are not heating up.
Gas engineer to call today sometime, but I do not know when.
I have cancelled my outing with La Bamba.

Hi, Rusty!
I am sorry if I did not explain clearly enough...it is certainly quite ridiculously complicated!
I cannot communicate with the Outlook service engineer on my own email site, because at present (since the update) I cannot receive any incoming emails at all, unless the sender is on "My Contacts" list!
Normally, emails from "unknown" senders would go to my Junk Mail box, from where I would retrieve them if relevant.
But since the "Update", I do not have a Junk box any more!!
So the Microsoft staff member with whom I spoke yesterday, advised me to contact the service engineer using an alternative email address.......such as that of my husband.
Is that any more understandable?
I have now sent the engineer a telephone number suggesting he rings me...as I cannot be on two different email sites at the same time!
I hope you soon get your radiators fixed.......it is a good job that the weather is milder or else you would be cold.
Maybe you and Miss L-B can go out tomorrow instead?

Hello, Elle!
I understand you, now.
I am glad I have a simpler system!
Let's hope your Outlook problem can be resolved speedily today.
No sign of my gas engineer yet.
My fleece shirt is to the fore, today!

Update, Elle!
That's my gas engineer been and gone, Elle!
All working perfectly, now.
Hope you get the same result with your Outlook engineer!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I am glad that your engineer has been, and that your central heating is functioning properly again now.
Had you already had this year's annual service?
I think ours is due around July.
I haven't had much luck communicating with the Outlook service engineer.....
The first email I sent was refused.....
I was told that the given email address didn't accept replies!
I ask you, why send me an email asking questions...if I couldn't reply to them?
So I had to go back to the Helpline and send another request for "contact"......
I have managed to "reply" to this one....but am still awaiting their response to me.......
What were we saying about grey hairs....?
Or maybe I shall start tearing my hair OUT?
I have been waiting for a courier to come to collect a parcel for "return".....
He has just been!
At least one thing to tick off the list.....

Elle, I presume you have "Cortana" on your desktop where you can ask e.g. "My folders in Outlook" ? The answers will then be shown. I have just tried that option and it works

Hello, Cerasus
It is very good of you to try to help.
Yes, I have Cortana and have already " been there, done that, and bought the T-shirt", last weekend when the official Boxes and subfolders first "disappeared"
This particular incident, however, is not due to an accident / mishap, but a deliberate act resulting from an Outlook Update …...something to do with the coding?(There are a fair number of people similarly complaining....)
I am told by Microsoft that the Folders cannot be recovered without Outlook's intervention..
It is a moot point whether this will in fact happen.....
I am still awaiting a further response.

Elle, that sounds quite serious, so I wish you luck with Microsoft. I have often used Cortana if I cannot find one of my folders, as long as I know the name e,g. "Charles" and 'She ' will give me several places where I have misplaced them.
...... flaming parking meters now !
