Good afternoon, Rusty!
No, I know what you mean about the "hardluck" stories ......
Even when concerning an animal, the very idea of encouraging public sympathy as a means to drumming up support, seems wrong....
It makes my hackles rise!
I think tales of woe should be banned....
The competitor should just "perform" ...and be judged by merit not sympathy!
Poor Hayley! I am glad she made it across the finishing line.
I hope she was okay afterwards!
My builders look as though they might be packing up....they are taking ladders and cloths out to their van...
I had best go investigate.....

Hello, Elle!
Yes, never mind the sentiment and get on with the act!
I think last year, the choir, the "D Day Darlings" were on, dressed as WW2 WAAFs and singing Vera Lynn songs.
They were reasonable, but the war finished 70 odd years ago!
But in defence of Finn, he did not know the story being spun about him, and did his very best.
So, fair play to Finn!
Sounds like your builders are finished if the dust sheets are being taken away?
You'll miss them!

Hi, Rusty!
I was a tad premature , but the builders have just left now.
They have done a brilliant job.... and we are extremely pleased with all our renovations.
The guys mop and hoover before each departure, which I think is fantastic!
In vain, do I protest that I will do it.....
They have put the heavy dining table back in place, so now I can start getting straight.......

Hello, Elle,
It all sounds splendid!
Well done, the builders!
They sound to be a top outfit.
You could perhaps give them a good "review" on their website if they have one?
My grandson is coming to see me when he finishes work.
Hope he's not needing more tea spoons!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, it is an excellent firm...….all brothers and each working with their eldest sons, in their particular speciality.
I would not hesitate to recommend them …... and, indeed, my friend, who owns the local pet shop, went home with their contact details last week!
They do not have a website...but the firm has been operating for very many years in the area.
I think it was the present guys' great-grandfather who started the business ...and they are well-known by "word of mouth".
Have a nice time with your grandson...you could maybe stretch to giving him the other two teaspoons?

Glad your builders have been so good, elle. I still haven't managed to get a plumber, five weeks later!
But I had scratches on my car repaired today, at home and invisibly. The man was very polite and refused a tip! The colour match of the paint is perfect as he made it up in his van- 10 different additives. I am extreely happy and I'm sure it was cheaper than a body shop; no VAT for a start.

Hello, Elle!
They sound like excellent tradesmen, Elle!
"Word of mouth" is the best recommendation.
My grandson is away.
Had a very good time with him.
He is off across the river to play football.
He was over there last week when the bridge closed and said it took an hour and a half to go the long way home by Perth.
Hope there is no closure tonight!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, not only very good tradesmen, Rusty, but a very nice family.
We are fortunate to know them.
I am glad that you and your grandson had a good time together.
How is he getting on with his new house?
Is there much work to be done ?
Have they a moving in date in mind?

Hello Ros!
Yes it seems that good plumbers are hard to find...we have much the same problem.
I am glad that you have got your car fixed, at least.

Hello, Elle!
My grandson does not have the keys to his new house yet.
Next week I think.
I know there is new flooring and a new kitchen going in, but that's all I know, just now.
So, I doubt they will be moving in for a while.

Hi, Rusty!
Ah, I am moving ahead too fast.
It will be some time yet before all the refitments and decorating are done.
But they will enjoy all the planning, I am sure.
BB is running in his first children's Charity race on Saturday!
He is doing it in memory of his other grandmother.
My daughter has set up a Just Giving Fundraising page for him for sponsorship .....
He is so excited to be taking part.
I think it is lovely of him...he is only seven!
