Hi, Rusty!
Congratulations to your daughter-in-law on her new job!
Is it she who is a nurse?
Or is that your other daughter-in-law?
I get confused........
I hope they enjoy their celebratory meal out.
And you will see your son tomorrow instead.
Well done on finding the Latin context in 7d!
(You can join me in tackling "O Tempora!" on Saturdays. I shall certainly need help!)
It is good to have 7d finally solved.
Wow, you did well on your betting in the racing!
Rachael is doing very well , isn't she?
Someone to watch in the future.......
I had best organise dinner.
Shepherd's pie tonight.

And thank you, Rusty. I like learning new things... but I don't always remember them if they don't crop up for a while! PS Hope you enjoyed the celebratory apple pie.

Good evening, Elle!
No, this daughter-in-law works with young children.
My other daughter-in-law is a nurse.
Not sure where they are going for tea, but they like Nando's, so maybe there.
You should have known "RI"!
You're the Latin scholar!
I got two in "O Tempora" last week.
Rachael is over from Ireland for the Aintree meeting.
Yes, she is the real deal, following in the stirrups of Nina Carberry and Katie Walsh.
Those two are Irish racing royalty!
Rachael is riding an outsider in the National, but I shall support her, and choose one of Willie's, too.
I had apple pie for tea.

Hi, Rusty!
That must be enjoyable, working with young children.
And very rewarding......
What does your daughter- in -law do?
I'm hardly a Latin scholar, Rusty....... but yes, I do wish I had pursued the subject further!
I think, were I to be given my time over again, I might make a different career choice?
Maybe.....?
Supporting Rachael, riding one of Willie's horses, sounds a good way to go!
I have yet to watch "Eggheads"......for some unexplained reason the programme is being shown at a different time.
But I have recorded it.......

Hello, Elle!
I only know she works with young children.
Rachael is not riding a horse of Willie's in the National.
She is stable jockey to Henry de Bromhead, and will ride Valseur Lido for him.
Valseur Lido is an outsider, but sometimes they win!
I will choose one of Willie's too.
And I'll see what is running tomorrow, Ladies Day!

Hi, Rusty!
Oh, sorry, I obviously misunderstood!
I had thought that you were opting for a combination of Rachael and one of Willie's horses!
Rachael won on an outsider before...hadn't you backed the horse at 50 to 1?
So all the fancy hats will be out tomorrow at Ladies' Day?
Speaking of being "fancy"... tonight's (repeat) episode of "Eggheads" featured a team of mostly drag queens!
Certainly unusual for "Eggheads" !

Evening, Rusty. Thanks for the information on the online stuff. It would've been even better if the clues had been corrected before the print and online versions appeared!

Hello, Elle!
No, just sentiment supporting Rachael.
Hope she gets round OK.
Lizzie Kelly is riding, too.
Rachael occasionally rides for Willie, but he has two top jockeys in Ruby Walsh and Paul Townend riding for him, most of the time.
To be honest, Elle, I am not sure what a drag queen is?

Hello, Malone!
I would have thought the Crossword Editor would go over the puzzle thoroughly, to ensure it was correct.
It is a rare occurrence, though.
