Hello, Elle!
Posts crossing!
Elinor rode the perfect race.
She kept herself at the back of the race and attacked late on.
My only criticism of Elinor is she has gone blonde!
I preferred her with her natural dark hair.
Vicky deserves every plaudit going and I think there is more to come from her.
Racing stopped just now.
There was a big crash and the track is damaged and undergoing repair, (this is fairly normal)

Rusty, I always get very jittery when there's a crash - and that was a pretty dramatic one! I know it's par for the course (!) for the sport, but it's always a relief when I hear afterwards that the riders are OK.

Hi, Rusty!
Oh dear! Was any one hurt?
I cannot watch a sport where one is fearing an accident all the time........
It is like watching an episode of "Casualty", where one knows that something awful is going to happen.......
But at least that is fiction!
We haven't had dinner yet....
I am behind with all my meals today, having had breakfast at nearer lunchtime, after my visit to the phlebotomist!
I had better go organise something.....

Hello, Elle!
I do not know if anyone was hurt in the crash.
Probably a splinter or two, and a friction burn or two.
Crashes are common in bike racing, Elle.
Anyway, Elinor was ahead of the crash and it did not affect her.
Jo Rowsell was delighted for her old team mate!
Enjoy your dinner!

With jacket potatoes. and stir fry vegetables.
I meant to say that I had managed to do 4d , thanks to your use of the word "haar"!
hangar = planes here (def)
haar - sea mist
NG - no good
One of the words in my little black book!

Hello, Elle!
Ah, yes, "haar"!
It's a common word around here.
And 8d is a synonym of "blootered"!
Your dinner sounds very tasty.
I have morning engagements for the next four days.
One each for three granddaughters, and a visit to my fourth granddaughter and her folks.
Busy, busy!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I had "legless" = "hammered".
I got the Long John Silver reference!
You are going to be very busy over the next few days.
It will be nice for you to see all your granddaughters within the same week.
Maybe you will ring the changes and try the "new" restaurant near you?

Good morning, Elle!
Foggy outside!
Wonder if the good weather may be ending?
I am looking forward to seeing the girls.
La Bamba today!
No, we will go to Pine Cone.
The girls love it there, and I like it, too.
The staff are excellent, they treat us very well and in a very friendly fashion, the food is good, and it is not too far away.
No reason to go elsewhere!

Good morning, Rusty!
Dull and cold here.......with the threat of rain about midday......and a supposed high of only 12C.
We shall see!
I only asked about the "new "restaurant, because you had mentioned maybe trying it?
I can well understand the lure of a favourite haunt!
I hope you and Miss L- B have a good time at the Pine Cone.
I am just going to take a look at the crossword......armed with a coffee and an apple …..
I hope I do better today!..

Good morning Elle and Rusty,

Where has the sun gone?

BTW, did you take note of 25a in today's Times Cryptic? The setter
described 'pedantry' as 'nit picking' ............. That rather amused me!
