The restaurant is not far off and Miss L-B thinks we shall walk there.
it is quite cold here, the frost has not lifted.
John B. Keane is an Irish author.
He wrote "The Field" which became a film with Richard Harris and Brenda Fricker in leading roles.
Have you heard of it?
My book is about country life in Ireland in the 50's and the conflicts between the locals and the clergy.
I can relate to that!
So, I'll give it a go, anyway, as it's well reviewed.

Neither book nor film.......
Although I liked Richard Harris.... and I remember Brenda Fricker especially, because she used to be in "Casualty", which I have watched for very many years.
She played Megan Roach, a nurse, who, at the end of her fictional story life, played a part where she suffered from terminal cancer.......resulting in euthanasia.
A big story line in the series.
But back to "The Bodhran Makers".....
The theme of your new book sounds very close to home......with its troubles between the local inhabitants and the church,
I hope it is as good as you hope.
Is it a true story..... or "based" on such?

I think the new restaurant may be a bit too fussy for my taste but I shall try it and see.
I don't know what the book is based on, but we do have personal experience of fall outs with clergy, at home, especially in bygone days.
I am looking forward to it, and John B. Keane has written many more, if I take to this one.
My son has just left for home.

I am sipping water regularly but it only helps for a few seconds.
But worse things happen at sea!
And I see my dentist on Monday and we'll see how the land lies then.
Now, I have no idea of when Poets' Day is, but I have had a think and I'll guess Thursday.
