Hi, Rusty!
I have just been talking to my daughter and the boys on the phone!
We are invited to BB's school Sports' Day on Wednesday!
That is very nice!
We shall look forward to it!
Because of the present intense heat - which is set to continue throughout next week - the headmaster has decreed that, this year, the children will compete in sections.
So the Reception class will begin the day's activities , then the children will return to their classroom.....
Followed by Class One (BB's class)...... they will do their races......then in turn go back to their classroom , etcetera....
It seems a very sensible idea under the circumstances....much better than having all the children gathered outside as usual , to watch the entire school compete.
(And the parents get to go home too after their child's participation!)
It is time for an ice cream, methinks!

Good evening, Elle!
That seems a sound idea your headmaster has had!
You will not be their for very long, it appears!
Still hot here!
I watched the golf and cycling this afternoon.
Peter Sagan won today's stage in le Tour and is in the yellow jersey, but he will almost certainly lose it tomorrow, I think.
The chicks at the loch are exercising their wings quite a bit now.
Can't be far of fledging!

Hi, Rusty!
You will be pleased that Peter Sagan won today, as I know you like him.
I have been watching a video link in today's newsletter received from Wimbledon.
It appears that yesterday various well- known personalities from Sport, and from the Services, were invited to the Royal Box........
And Sue Barker was introducing them to the Centre Court spectators, before the start of play.
I'd missed it "live", so was pleased to see the video.
If you didn't see it, perhaps it will be on YouTube......
( I did look, but couldn't find it! )
Yes, the osprey chicks are getting very adventurous.
One was spreading his wings wide and actually jumping up and down!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, Sagan is my favourite now that Cancellara has retired.
I like Geraint Thomas, too, and Trotty and Elinor Barker.
I saw Sir Bobby Charlton at Wimbledon yesterday but I did not notice anyone else that was familiar.
Both chicks have been "helicoptering" this evening!
Lassie was away and I thought one may fledge.
Not long now!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, Bobby Charlton was there.
And (Dame ) Jessica Ennis-Hill; Billie -Jean King; David Haye; Adam Peaty; Judy Murray; and Rod Laver.
There were very many more ...some whom I cannot remember , some whose names I did not recognise, but all from Sport or the Services.
It was quite a momentous occasion, all rising in turn to wave or take a bow, as they were introduced.
I am waiting for my cousin to phone...it could be any time as she was out earlier, visiting family.

Hello, Elle!
I missed Rod Laver, he was a favourite of mine.
I think he is there every year.
Did not see Jess or Billie Jean, or Judy.
I do not know David Haye or Adam Peaty.
Jack Nicklaus often attends. Was he there?
Something in the back of my mind tells me that the Williams sisters often practice on Jack's tennis court in Florida.
Have you heard that, or am I imagining it?
I like Jack.
I am sure your cousin won't forget to phone, if possible.

Hi, Rusty!
My cousin rang just after I last "spoke" to you!
All are well, though feeling the heat, as are we!
The fire on Winter Hill is still going!
Roads are closed, so access in the immediate vicinity, and around, is difficult.
David Haye is a boxer...which reminds me...Nicola Adams was also one of the Royal guests.
I think , but am not sure, that Adam Peaty is a swimmer?
I did not see nor hear mention of Jack Nicklaus at Wimbledon yesterday.
I watched your clip......you have a good memory!
More tennis tomorrow...I must look out who is playing, and when......

A Very Good morning to you, Rusty!
And a lovely day it is too!
We have similar temperatures to yesterday, but with a delightful fresh breeze!
Good to be out!
Hopefully, if they have this over in Wimbledon, it will be easier on the tennis players. too........
Roger Federer is up first on Centre Court at 1pm, followed by Serena's match, then Rafa's.
Whilst at 11.30am, on Court No 2, the last remaining seed, Karolina Pliskova, plays Kiki Bertens.
That should be a good match.
Will you be watching any of it?
Or are you going to be tied up with Le Tour?

Hello, Pigale!
How are you coping with the heat?
It is a little fresher here today - as yet anyway!
I have a good tennis schedule to follow as back up...should it prove too hot for a later walk!
