Thank you Elle!

Sorry for the delay in replying, had a rather busy day today in
town, then a friend's son came to cut some lawn and weeds
and I finally managed to eat my salad type meal two hours later
than usual!
Then collapsed in armchair and watch an episode of my current
DVD - Marie Antoinette - to be followed by a long series about
La Révolution Française. These are all things we covered at school
but since history was all dates to be learnt by heart, with perhaps the odd anecdote thrown in, I find it much more interesting at this
later stage of my life!

Yes, I was very pleased with the win, and Paul's clue - he came
second - was extremely good, probably better than mine, but
we never think of our own clue as being the best!

It has been less sunny today, which was perhaps a good thing for
me in town, but sun is due back tomorrow I believe. Very windy
tonight though, and I noticed that it was extremely blowy up at
the Loch!

Have you done anything interesting today?

Hi Ros, if you are about?

Did you manage to finish your glass cleaning in conservatory?
or at least the outside perhaps. It sounds like a lot of work.

I believe Doctors in France are still allowed some leeway when it
comes to reduce the pain in hopelessly ill patients, and that is a
good thing. (and there are Doctors who, even when not really
supposed to do so, will give what they can safely give without
creating problems for themselves - those are what I call 'human'.
To my mind, view the progress of medicine, no one should be let to suffer and be in agony, particularly towards the end of their
lives anyway!

Are you going to take a breather from spring cleaning for the
week-end?

Hi pigale
I always thought French medicine superior to ours!

No, not done much today except spend a long time at the dentist. This was for a crown preparation. Lots of extra local anaesthetic needed, as usual. Not too bad but the poor woman before me needed a tooth extracted and the dentist couldn't do it! She had to hand over to her husband. People quite upset (understandably).
Did you get your patches?

Have to add my congratulations to elle's; very well done indeed.

I have only done about a third of the conservatory glass and less of the floor. I think it will be a while yet as I plan to go to the wood on Saturday and may spend time with the children on Sunday.

Hello Elle and Ros,

Hope you are both Okay today?

The North-Easterly wind is so strong and cold that it is not pleasant
to have a window opened - and yet the sun is shining. It went
down to 9C last night!

I admire you Ros for putting up with a four hours session at the
dentist! Did the anaesthetic wear out soon after your treatment or
were you left with a numb feeling for ages?
I am afraid I do not understand your phrase 'She had to hand over
to her husband' ? Obviously a meaning I don't know.

It will be good for you to have a break from cleaning, and see your
family on Sunday - precious time.

Yes, I have my patches, but negative answer to change to tablets
as the molecules are not identical and thus don't work in the
same way; We are also staying with the same dosage for a little
while longer yet (decided after discussing pain when I do any
kind of effort, or even walking for too long a distance - very depressing really, I feel so diminished!

Are you seeing any family this week-end Elle? Sport watching or
reading in the garden?
Nothing planned for me, but I am racking my brain at the moment trying to find a suitable word to be clued next Tuesday - not easy!

Hi pigale
I'm not that brave, the appointment was only one and a half hours! And her husband is also a dentist in the same practice and , I presume, a bit stronger when it comes to pulling out teeth. Yuk
I'm glad you got your patches and only sorry you need them so badly.

Sure you will choose an excellent word- I think the best ones have several definitions. When bullfrog was alive (he used to win as often as mattrom), he didn't enter if a word had only one, very specific, definition.

The conservatory is getting there. I went to the garden centre today and got a plant (a white bourgainvillea) for £4 which had been £18.99. I can't see anything wrong with it.

Hello, Pigale!
Sorry...I have been missing for much of the day!
Yes, I am fine, thank you!
I was just back in time this afternoon to watch Novak Djokovic playing Adrian Mannarino in a Quarter Final..
To my delight, Novak won in two straight sets.
That makes Novak , Kyrgios, Cilic and Chardy (a Frenchman!) the Semi -Finalists.
I am not sure yet what the weekend will bring.......we may see our younger daughter and family on Sunday...
But otherwise i have tennis to watch!
I hope you are having some success in choosing a word for next week's "Clueless"?
Oh the "penalty" - sorry! - of winning!

I've just looked in on the ospreys......
I wonder where Lassie is?
The chicks are alone in their nest......
I thought the Ranger said that Lassie wouldn't leave the babies until they were fledged?

Hello Rusty, if you are around!

I noticed your answering a clue recently so I assume that you are
a bit less busy at present?
The PCT seems weird without your posts!
Hope you will come back soon and that all is okay!
