Good morning, Rusty!
Another damp one here.......
I am not going out for an early walk this morning, as I have a dental appointment later which would clash with my timing........
I hadn't realised that the Commonwealth Games are due to start today!
The Opening Ceremony is this morning.
There is a lot of potential viewing ahead, although as I will have family staying all next week, I will probably not get to watch very many of the events.
Maybe the Highlights in the evening!
What are you up to today?
Any plans?

You were late on the PCT last night....I had gone to bed!
We didn't get your thunderstorm, although I think there must have been something in the air, as the dog was edgy.
You were asking about ages.......
There are four years between our eldest grandson and BB.
The boys are 10, 8, 6 , 2 and 17 months. and our granddaughter is 8.
They all get on well.

The dog is a tad confused.......
She is accustomed to going out early!
We shall have to take her for a walk after my return from the dentist.

I am home again now.......and here to stay for the rest of the day.
The dentist visit was fine.
Yes, I had broken a tooth, but she fixed it there and then, and gave me a clean bill of health on all my other teeth.
So mission successfully accomplished.
The dog was very pleased to go out on our return.
We even had sunshine for a time .......although it is raining again now.
How did you fare seeing the practice nurse?
Is all well with your blood test results?
I am belatedly half way through the crossword.......... it is quite a nice puzzle.

My MOT was successful. Everything within limits.
Nurse was pleased, and me, too.
I have had sleet on and off all day.
Yes, I finished my puzzle.
Thought it was on the easy side, except for 12a, which I had not came across before.
I thought 1a, was two words!
And I can not quite parse 13d, almost, but not quite.
So, I have put the puzzle away and turned my attention to making soup!

Oooops!
I meant 12 down was a new word to me.
Some old Greek judge apparently.

Rusty, 13 D involves a Shakespeare character - unknown to me!

New words for me were "marquessate" and "anchoret"
Seemingly "anchoret" is another version of "anchorite" though...and I have heard of that.
I cannot parse 21a...."one over the eight"?

I know very little about Shakespeare or his plays, I confess.
But....after you kindly posted, I took myself off to see if Anne Bradford could shed any light on my ignorance!
And lo and behold, under "tinker" (which was the bit I could not parse) I found "sly".
So I presume old Shakespeare may have had a role in a play called "sly"?
Anyway, I'll look forward to tomorrow's puzzle!
