Quite! To me the terminology can be high in colour and I sometimes wished that I were a cartoonist - I could have drawn many a funny pictures from what these words triggered in my head !

I did see one of the tea towel in a shop window once in a village but it was half day closing and I never got it - shame because I never came across another one.

And yes, rainy days are nice because of the chat going on. Jeffrey Boycott (hope name not mispelt) amuses me - when he has a bee in his bonnet there is no getting him off the subject!

~Anyway, what would the UK be without Cricket, tea and of course Royalty . To most foreigners this is what makes the country - full of traditions different to our own.

Sania Mirza is Martina's Ladies Doubles partner - they must be through to the Semis? I didn't know that?
With Freeview, the main matches I usually get to see are the Mens' and Ladies' Singles - very occasionally Doubles. It's only when it gets to the Semis and Finals that the other matches are shown.
Perhaps you get much better coverage on Eurosport?

One player hit her ball to the edge of a bunker and there were burrowing wasps there!
She wanted a free drop because she was allergic to wasps....she said!

Pigale. I have just discovered the tea towel on Amazon UK and have ordered one. It is called a Cricket Linin Tea Towel on their website.

Thanks Kenyatta, I found it and ordered one too. I also got a cheap second hand copy of 'And God created Cricket' , a book by Simon Hughes. Could be interesting.

From what I read on the trailer, it all started very much earlier than I thought, I had not realized that the game was as ancient as that, and apparently an adaption of another old game - the name of which I have already forgotten of course!

I'll let you know how I get on once I've received it.

Pigale, Tony Martin is flying to Hamburg for surgery on his collar bone. Team doctor said it is broken into several pieces with one piece protruding through the skin. He said he would not have permitted Tony to start tomorrow, even if he wanted to try.
No one gives up the yellow jersey easily.
Now, I think Sky and Froome have a big decision to make. Will Froome wear the jersey tomorrow?

Re the wasps....... I don't like wasps either ....ever since one of our hospital porters was on his honeymoon and his new wife was badly stung by wasps on the beach...sadly she was extremely allergic and it resulted in her being in a vegetative state. A very sad affair.
Unsurprisingly, I tend to give wasps a wide berth now.......
Yes, granddaughters are great! - she is , so far, our only one! as you know, we have three grandsons! the boys are wonderful, though!

Oh dear Rusty ! I did not think it would be such a bad inhjury ! The poor guy will be in agony tonight - unless is has already reached hospital in which case he would have been given strong stuff against pain.

I too hope no one will dare wear that yellow jersey - it should not even be considered! But there again, what happened with Cancellara when he fell?

Yes, the 12th is for Orangemen. For many people in Norn Iron it is still 1690.
Vast majority of normal folk bail out, over the Border or across here.

Pigale, the cases of Cancellara and Tony Martin are different. Fabian crashed 55km from the finish and lost a lot of time, and had lost the jersey by the time he finished. Tony crashed within 4km of the finish and the rules say anyone who crashes within 4km must get the same time as the winner of his group. So, when the stage finished, Tony was still in yellow.
I would hate to see Froome wear the jersey tomorrow, but Le Tour organisation would obviously love a yellow jersey in the peloton. We shall see!
