Hello, Elle!
Lucky you with the temperature rise!
Hope it makes it's way North!
Snow has stopped for a breather...more to follow!
They are racing in Tuscany.
Anna van der Breggen has won the women's race.
Finished the puzzle. A very good one.
One parse I am a bit in the dark about, at 11a.
Reference to Alice has me scratching my neatly trimmed head!
I'll try and find the time for young Miss Muir's race!

Update, Elle!
Elinor Barker will not ride the madison after her crash yesterday, but may ride on Sunday.
Laura runs at 20.39 tonight according to schedule.
11a is to do with "eat me cakes", I have discovered, so I am content with parse now!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, the temperature rise is certainly proving advantageous!
The snow on our patio is melting quite rapidly, although the lawn and flower-beds are still well-covered.
The pavements are beginning to thaw slightly too, but I fear if there is not a significant improvement by late evening, the "thaw" will freeze over.
But we are very fortunate here, and are now much better off than many parts of the South-east.
I hope your snow eases up soon.
It is probably sensible for Elinor not to ride in the Madison, but to see how she is tomorrow?
Our 4 x 400 Relay teams - both men and women - are through to the Final!
I hadn't heard of any of the male competitors, but they did well.
I think there are one or two bigger "names" who might be brought in for the Final.
The women runners I knew - they performed well.
Thanks for telling me the time of Laura's race - I am going to have to juggle watching / recording "Casualty", "The Voice" and the Athletics!
Now how do I do that!

Hello, Elle!
Just been reading online about an old couple down in the Borders who have been rescued by police and mountain rescue.
Their house was surrounded by 12ft drifts of snow!
And I'm moaning about an 8 inch covering in my street!
A lot less snowing here today!
I really do not know what Elinor has been up to in Apeldoorn, but she has four ripped skinsuits, which suggests four crashes!
Surely not?
These Welsh girls are tough cookies!
I am no help regarding watching/recording programmes.
Malone may be of help there!
I have the Sky system which is not like your system.
Just watched KJT interview.
A very nice young lady!

Elle, you could watch the athletics, record 'Casualty' at its scheduled time and record 'The Voice' on the ITV+1 channel, ie when it's shown an hour later. (My channel for that is 33, yours might have a different number.)

Rusty, that's the extent of my knowledge/skills.

Thanks, Rusty - now all we need is for Elle to track down her +1 channel!

Hi, Rusty!
My daughter was saying that they have a 4ft snowdrift in their back garden.......she had to go haul her younger son out of it!
As for us.......we seem to be in the midst of a big thaw!
And now it is raining!
So with luck, we shall be more- or- less clear of snow tomorrow.
Just as long as all the damp does not freeze over.......
Yes, I too saw Kat's interview - she has really done well in these Championships.
She has come into her own.
It is an enthralling programme of Athletics this evening!
I am riveted to the screen......
We haven't even had time for dinner yet!

Thank you, Malone!
I of course had never heard of ITV + 1!
I shall investigate!
This is very useful to know.
I have also since discovered that "The Voice"" is repeated on ITV tomorrow morning, so there was no need for me to panic!

Elle, I knew there was a repeat of 'The Voice', but had no idea when that would be. I was delighted when I discovered the +1 channels. They're available for ITV, channel 4 and channel 5, but not for BBC 1 or BBC 2. The BBC have had many queries/complaints over the years and are supposed to be looking into supplying BBC +1 channels.

Hello, Elle!
Aw, come on!
You must have heard of ITV1, surely to goodness?
I know BGT is repeated several times over a weekend on different channels.
I think there was a mild thaw for a while here, but we have had snow since.
But, not too much.
I hope your husband is not on starvation rations while you are glued to the athletics and The Voice?
