Hi, Rusty!
I am not on speaking terms with this bug!
It has definitely outstayed its welcome!
I have tried showing it the door......
I am more concerned about my husband than I am about myself......
Fortunately, I am fit enough normally, whereas he has an ongoing medical condition that is really threatened by this nasty flu.
However, his antibiotics course doe not finish until tonight....hopefully, we shall soon see more improvement......
If not, I shall telephone the GP, and see what he /she suggests.
I have my eye on the ball.......
That will be a nice break for Miss L- B and her friend!
When do they plan to go to Ireland?
Will they be staying in one place...or touring?

Hello Elle and Rusty!

I am glad you are thinking in terms of perhaps speaking to your
GP - I know this bug has been nasty for everyone who has had
it, but it seems to be giving some concerns for your husband in
particular, and surely the antibios should have already started
to show some improvement!
As for yourself, it is also worrying that you hardly sleep or eat!
May be you too should have a course of antibiotics Elle, even
though you do not like to take (or cannot always take) medicine.

Another miserable day here, with once again very very strong
winds, rain coming horizontally (!) but not that cold, nor that
warm - a very unhealthy weather. Hardly difference between
day and night temperatures at present! not normal.

Hope you are keeping well Rusty, and are managing to stay
away from this fluish bug - I too am OK, but I have not heard
any complaints of flu or bugs around here - of course, there
are the odd cold here and there, but this is normal, and it does
not seem to develop into anything more nasty.

I looked in on the Loch yesterday, but did not see the squirrels
site you mentioned, nor the bird's feeding spots. Perhaps I
need to look on a different site?

I suppose you are like me and navigate on you tube most nights?
I do so, and keep up with Amira, Laura Bretan and Darcy Lynne -
She can sing beautifully too, (and so does her mum!)

Hello, Elle!
Seems to be a nasty bug!
They are heading to Ireland on Friday, I think.
I am not asking too many questions in case I Iand for the airport run!
They will be in Dublin.
I gave them some tips on the terminology the Dubs use!
The shoes we call "trainers", are "runners" over there, etc.
Been a fine day here, but we have ice and snow warnings!

Good evening, Pigale!
Hope you are fine!
There appears to be a problem today at the Loch.
The webcams are not operating.
The rangers are not very good at updating the page to keep us informed!
But, if you go to Loch home page, to the right there is a menu.
You need "People's Postcode Lottery Squirrelcam", or something like that, it says.

Hi, Rusty!
Oh , I didn't realise that this is an imminent holiday for Miss L- B and her friend?
I had supposed that they were planning ahead for the Summer!
Well, I hope they take lots of warm clothing!
What is the saying...."Be prepared for any eventuality!"
I hope they have a great time!
Now, I am told that the white van, filming in the street, belonged to an advertising company..... but what was being advertised still remains under wraps!
There is nothing especial about our street!
Your ice and snow warnings sound a bit worrying?

Hello, Pigale!
I shall be fine...given time!
My husband is eating, and keeping up his strength in that respect.
The GP has made it clear that antibiotics will not be given out for this particular bug...except in extreme cases , like my husband's.....so there is no use my asking for them...even if I wanted to take them!
Another few days should see an improvement.
Everyone around here seems to be suffering similarly!
You are lucky this hasn't hit your part of the world!

Hello, Pigale!
Update!
I've e-mailed the rangers at the Loch to let them know the webcams are not transmitting today, and when will they be.
They have a reduced staff over the winter months, so not expecting a reply very soon!

Good evening, Elle!
I only heard about the Dublin jaunt a couple of days ago.
I hope they will be fine.
I have not heard of her Summer hols yet.
Her Mum and Dad are going to Florida again and whoever draws the short straw is in charge of me until they come home!
You have solved the mystery of the white van!
Well done!
I am hoping we are too low lying to get much in the way of snow and it is coming from the West so that is even better!

Hello Rusty,

Thanks for the hint - I have just tried but, as you said, there is a
message saying they are aware of the problem, bla bla bla...

Might not get seen to before the week-end, if voluntary staff
only come when they are off work.

BTW our forecast for tomorrow is more wind, rain, thunder and hail, etc . and..............I am going to the hairdresser!
I picked tomorrow because I also have my usual monthly check-up
with my friendly GP, and that was arranged last month.

Hope you escape snow and ice!

Hi, Rusty!
Apart from the possibility of dubious weather, I am sure your granddaughter and her friend will be fine in Ireland!
Will they be staying with family?
Your son and daughter-in -law certainly do love Florida!
It must almost be a home -from -home by now?
They must have made friends out there?
I can see the girls vying to be the one to "look after" you!
You are fortunate to have such a loving relationship with your grandchildren!!
BB (6) has sent me an email !
He wants to know how we are!
Isn't that sweet of him?
He's also sent a picture of a bus from the 1950s and wants to know if I 've ever travelled on one like it!
It is a single -decker and looks very "old -fashioned"....... and I do not recollect ever seeing such a bus....
I can remember double-decker trolley buses!
Yes, fingers crossed, you do not get snow!

Hello, Pigale!
I think that message has been there for ages!
I received an automated e-mail reply from the rangers saying they will be in touch but are working "Winter hours" just now.
There are four webcams on that site and none are transmitting.
They were fine yesterday!
Hope you get on fine at GP and hairdresser!
We have some sleet just now and it is quite cold!

Hello, Elle!
I think they are stopping in a hotel in Dublin.
Yes, my son and his wife love Florida.
It is an annual trip now!
I have not heard of any friends out there.
My young ones are great!
I suspect Miss La Bamba will be my boss until my son returns!
We shall see!
I have been on many a single decked bus, going back through the mists of time!
But started out on trams.
It is sleeting here just now.
