Hi, Rusty!
Ah, yes, so they did cross!
We seem to do that quite a lot!
Yes, I know that research at Dundee Uni is very extensive .
My friend's husband was knighted some years back, for his services .
That is very interesting about Parkinson's disease.
My father suffered from that in the later stages of his life - fortunately, only very lightly.
I have heard of dogs being able to sniff out certain diseases - but never that a human could do so?
I haven't seen a paper - was this in today's?

Yes, because she was clever enough to accept her marriage to be
annulled (knowing full well she would not win the case - I think)
Apparently she was given property in exchange......
A wilful man in his own way.

Hello, Elle!
It has been in the papers for a few days.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/2017/12/18/woman-can-smell-parkinsons-disease-helps-scientists-develop/

It is very interesting.
Joy seems to have this very unusual gift.

Hello, Pigale!
I read that Anne of Cleves got a very generous settlement for her marriage being annulled.

Update, Elle!
The BBC are making, or have made, a documentary about Joy.
"The Woman Who Can Smell Parkinson's".

Isn't it fascinitating that when a subject appears on our thread,
it forces you to look up things - I never knew all this about Ann of
Cleves!

What a formidable gift this lady has! It opens great potentials
for an eventual early treatment of the illness - if not erradicate
it entirely!

Hi, Rusty!
I have just read your link - thank you!
So yes, dogs might be able to be used in sniffing out this disease! That is very interesting.
I wonder then what steps can be taken to prevent Parkinson's happening if known about in advance?
Or whether treatment might prove efficient if administered earlier? It will be interesting to see this documentary, won't it?

Hello, Pigale,
It is a remarkable story about Joy.
Let us hope her gift leads to great advances.
She won't be alone either.
There will be others with similar gifts that maybe do not know it, yet.

Hello, Elle!
The great thing is they are learning all the time.
And who knows what will come of it.
Her gift could be very beneficial in the study and potential cure for Parkinson's.
A special lady!

Yes, I've just read the second link, Rusty!
It is enhances what was said in the first link and is clearer.
I do not know a great deal about Parkinson's disease, but I was puzzled by no mention of tremors?
I have only known a few people suffering from this disease, but tremors (a slight to very bad shaking) seem to be a prominent symptom?
I must do some more research tomorrow!
