Hello, Elle!
I never thought about local airports!
A good explanation from Pigale, though!
Yes, I knew you were quite chief with Dame Kelly!
("Chief" is a Scots term for being quite friendly with someone.)
Put it in your wee book.
I am getting fed up of this steak pie.
One helping left, just!

Hello, Pigale!
Nice to hear from you, and you are very clued up on Ebbsfleet!
Thank you for that!
Your weather is a bit warmer than here anyway!

This is Amira singing a few days ago.

I've recovered now thanks, pigale. Just woken up after 2 hour's sleep.
Have some totally delicious slices of cold turkey in the fridge for tomorrow, when I shall be exerimenting with my ice cream maker on ginger and brandy ice cream!

Very cold wind and rain here

Hi Ros,
I thought you did not like ginger?

Brandy ice cream sounds too cold for me at present - just give
me the brandy!

Hi, Rusty!
I was obviously on the right lines about Ebbfleet - and the other International railway stations.
It is good to have it confirmed by Pigale.
That was a lovely recording of Amira...... what a difference in self possession between the 10 year old 'child' we watched yesterday, and the 13 year-old 'young woman' we've seen today!
Oh dear, I am thinking of you and your steak pie!
Well, at least you are getting value for money!
Look at it from that point of view?
We have done much the same thing with the roast beef from yesterday's lunch!
We came home armed with a sizeable portion..... and had a second roast dinner tonight!
Very tasty it was, too!
Our son has phoned, and is coming to see us tomorrow.
Of course, he has been working over Christmas.
It will be good to see him!

Hello, Pigale!
Yes, a very relaxing day, today, thank you!
I have done nothing but go for walks, talk on the phone, do crosswords and read books!
Very "idle"!I hope you have had a nice day, too.

Ros, I am still thinking of your gingerbread house!
Your cake sounded mouth-watering......
I love gingerbread!

Hello, Elle!
I had not heard of International railway stations.
Amira was great, wasn't she!
Wonder if she went on to her MacDonald's job after that?
The steak pie is very good but it will be good to finish it!
Now, after your BG carry on, lately, earlier I read on AnswerBank about a woman whose boiler broke down on Christmas Eve and the BG engineer turned up at ten o'clock on Christmas morning and fixed it!
And, one of her neighbours, on seeing the BG van came over and invited them for Christmas dinner, if they were stuck.
Isn't that a nice tale?
You will be pleased to see your son, I'm sure.

Yes, Lovely Amira, and how well she sang the E. Moricone piece!

She might have turned into a very attractive young teenager, but
I can still see some facial expressions remaining from the
9 years old (She was 9 something when she won HGT!)

I saw a clip on youtube of her singing with three tenors, and even
with their powerful voices singing together, you can still hear the
clear and pure (and powerful) voice of Amira.

I am now going to hunt on youtube for any new songs by my
other favourite young opera singer, Laura Bretan - I can see
a great opertic career ahead of her because she is such an
actress when she song, with an extra-powerful voice! (she must
be 14/15 now?)

Hello, Pigale!
I am a confirmed fan of Amira.
Yes, I can still see the nine year old in her face and expressions.
And a very pretty young lady indeed!
Sometimes I see a resemblance to Duchess Kate!
Or is she a Princess?
Good luck with your search for Laura!
Some great stuff over on YouTube!

Hi, Rusty!
I don't go on AnswerBank........
Where was this that you were reading about the woman and her boiler?
Does AnswerBank have a chat page?
Yes, a nice story.......I 'm somewhat hard put to believe the BG part, after our recent experience (altho the engineer himself was great), but a lovely gesture on the part of the neighbour to invite her and her family for Christmas dinner.
But that's what good neighbours do!
We are very fortunate, as we would all react like that around here!
Yes, it will be great to see our son.........he didn't mention if he were bringing our granddaughter with him (he may be on his way to work).
But we shall see her anyway on New Year's Day with her mum.
Our son is a manager at a big London hotel and works unsociable hours!
Pouring with rain here and feeling very cold!
