Pigale, I suspect different countries have different rules.

In the case of children born to a parent with claims to a dual nationality, I think they should be left free to choose which one is right for them.
In my family it has worked out very well for them.
They hold GB passports while never forgetting where they came from.

Will i e blacklisted if I hate cyclists the ones who ride on the pavements which are not designated cycle tracks I hasten to add,They race along with no thought for pedestrians two accidents have happened this month one an elderly lady who was knocked into the hedge and a mother whose pushchair was hit and overturned did the cyclists stop no of course not,they are usually middle aged men clad in lycra (not a pretty sight)and wearing helmets.Dog walking is also a dangerous activity.Any kind of cycling event makes them worse

Rusty, re Laura.... yes, she represents herself at Wimbledon, but she represented GB in the 2012 Olympics - I distinctly recall her playing Mixed Doubles with Andy Murray - they won a silver medal - so she must have British nationality to do that.
I've googled it but so far haven't come up with anything explanatory (unless I've missed it)
Her parents are/were Australian, left to live in Singapore., then moved to Britain when Laura was but a nipper!

Doglet, for the sake of peace , perhaps we'd better say that racing cyclists are in a different category to those who ride on pavements (knocking down old ladies)....or, on the road, ride through red lights....or don't indicate when turning .....or overtake on the wrong side ..... or blame car drivers for any incident when it's blatantly their fault......

You will not be on my blacklist, at any rate!
Pavements are designed for pedestrians, not for folk riding machines with edges etc which could cause injury to an unprotected leg if it came in contact.
And hit and run folk, whether bike or car, are moral cowards. Should be put before a court if that is the law.
My days of cycling are behind me now, Doglet, and I can assure you there was no Lycra or snazzy helmets in those days!
And as you mentioned pavements, take a look at Chambers definition of "jaywalker".

Thankyou for your support.Re Ms Robson she acquired a British Passport in 2008 because her father applied for one!!!!Quite why it was allowed I dont know but they both have dual nationality now

I also support you. I have been knocked down in the local park twice by cyclists, when I have been walking the dog.
The last time it was group of three ( protected by their helmets ) cycling behind me, all of us heading in the same direction. Not hearing them at all, and having no idea they were there, I stopped to pick up some litter (as I often do) and they careered straight into me . I fell hitting the back of my head and two other walkers came over to help me, while the cyclists stared, said nothing, and then continued to cycle on. No apology from them.

Do bicycle bells still exist? They could easily have given a warning if they had them, to let anyone ahead of them know of their existence
