Hello, Elle!
Not easy getting rid of favourite books!
I reread books, too.
I guess, though, I only have around 50 left now.
Well, the fans at the game are well behaved.
It is on my television and my grandson is at the game.
He says it is Arctic there!
I do not know if the lights are on TV.
I tend not to watch the local news.

Hello, Pigale!
Nice to hear from you!
I am sure you will get on fine with your new tablet!
Even the cheap ones are getting better all the time.
It is very cold here, too!

Hello, Pigale!
The Hudl is just a basic tablet made for Tesco.
My daughter recommended my getting it, but my use of it is limited by my lack of computer knowledge!
Rusty has one - I think he is/ has been a lot more proficient at using his, than I am with mine!
Re watching sport.....mostly I watch the tennis and Athletics on my television - when covered by a relevant channel - which means that I can sit comfortably on the sofa!
It is only when I am watching something shown by EuroSport Player that I need to watch it on the computer- which necessitates sitting on a revolving chair in front of my desk top!
I hope you do not get too much variation in your temperatures!
It is difficult to know what to wear/ how to heat the house/ isn't it?

Sorry elle. After Rusty's unrepentant rudeness, no more from me on this thread.

I hope to keep in touch with you on other threads.

Difficult to know what to put on the bed too - Last week a did pu
a very light bedspread over my duvet, just to keep the warmth:
forgot to remove it after seeing the forecast for the last couple
of nights - result, I did not sleep well at all - much too hot and I
actually got up at one stage to remake my bead !!!

Hi, Rusty!
Sorry, I didn't immediately see your post, as it crossed with mine to Pigale!
I think that easily we will have over 1,000 books?
(without doing a head count!)
This is including a lot of (mostly medical and scientific) text books though.
Initially, we had a lot of duplications of Haematology and Biochemistry text books as, of course, we both had our own volumes....but after retirement, we compromised by keeping the ones in the better condition!
Have you ever seen the young ones on screen when they are at a match?
It could happen?!
It might be interesting , just for once, to watch your local news, and see the Christmas lights?
A touch of Christmas festivity?
Pigale was asking about the Hudl....... I am not very good at explaining ...maybe you could tell her what it does?

Hello, Pigal!
I don't "do" duvets as I get too hot, no matter how low the tog!
Just a sheet and a blanket!

Hello, Elle!
That is an awful lot of books!
I do not read as much as I used to.
No, I have not seen the young ones on screen.
It was very cold at the game my grandson said, but his team won so everything is rosy!

This was tonight.... if the link works!

Hello, Pigale!
A Hudl was an Android tablet sold by TESCO supermarkets.
They were quite cheap and good value.
I have no idea where TESCO got the name "Hudl"!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, your link worked!
You are good at copying and pasting now!
The article said that the temperature there in Dundee felt like minus 4C!
Brrrh!
Your Christmas lights look very effective!
And what a lot of people had turned out (in that bitter cold, too) for the event.
Impressive!
Are you going to the Pine Cone with a granddaughter (or two...)tomorrow?

I'm afraid you've bumped into the rather possessive nature of this forum.
My difficulty with this is that the crossword aspects are often lost in the domestic minutiae that seems to prevail. As a result they are missed.
I would have expected any thread to be mainly related to crossword solutions!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, the town seemed busy!
Yes, the lights looked fine.
I think there is a weekend of "events" in town.
And, yes, it is very cold up here.
Zero C outside.
No Pine Cone that I know of, so far.
That may change in the morning though.
We shall see!
