I could not find anything!
There appears to be an author called Anne Bradford, too?
But I think Anne R is the lady born in 1930.
I thought she would have been a bit younger than that.
Anyway, she is one of my heroes!

I found a marriage of an Anne R F****** to a F****** Bradford in the June qtr of 1952 in Hampstead, Lodon. I haven't shown names as this is a public form and people using google could use info. even if it is not correct .

She would have been 22 in 1952, so it fits.
She lives in North London.
Is Hampstead in North London?
"Meet Anne Bradford" is an article in the Guardian all about her.
It is online.
I found it very interesting.

Hampstead is 4 miles northwest of Charing Cross postcode district NW3

Ros is a good genealogist and she knows as well as I do that finding snippets of information can often lead to false trails, so there would have to be more research to arrive at the facts. . So... as there is nothing shown on the internet regarding Anne, I guess that we have to respect her privacy. I have finished the Everyman and now off for a walk by the river

I agree JG, though I think you are a genius to find what you did. She clearly wants to remain largely unknown so I think we should leave it there. I will, however, be requesting one of her books for Christmas!
Genealogically speaking I am now investigating a family with members in both a workhouse and a Bluecoat School. I feel really sorry for those lads having to wear a bright blue frock coat and yellow or yellow/white banded stockings until 1939! At least they were clothed, educated and fed which is more than happened to other orphans/children of single parents/street children in the 19th century.

I'd already read that article about her in the Guardian, but there was another reference on Goggle that gave her as being born in 1930.

Still, it provoked a bit of "chat" - that is always a good thing!
Hampstead is where The Royal Free Hospital is, where I used to work.
Hampstead is a mile from Swiss Cottage and about the same distance from St John's Wood.
It is 2 miles from Kilburn.

I just wondered if her and Lyn were neighbours as they both live in North London!
I found an interview with Anne R Bradford in "The Lady" magazine.
(I just happened across it!)
The word that started her out on her Dictionary was "lat", a Hindi word meaning "pillar".
She is a Geordie by birth, and is described as "erudite, educated, and immaculately mannered."
No puzzle for me today.

As you mention Anne being a Geordie, I have checked the lady I found in the marriage to Mr Bradford and she was indeed born in Northumberland, Newcastle on Tyne. That's my bit of genealogy for this morning.

It was very easy to find the info. I am not a genius by any stretch of the imagination.
You must know the two reliable sites that I use :)
I also assist in finding "long lost family". A recent success was finding the long lost sister of a friend of mine who is now 89. I found her sister living at Bluff, New Zealand and put them both in touch. They were both amazed and thrilled.
