Hello, Elle!
If the Grand Prix is motor car racing, then no, I can't stand screaming engines.
I am very soon to lend a hand to a neighbour who has stuff to dump!
Everyman used to be easy, but it may have changed.
Still beautiful weather here!

Hi, Rusty!
No, Rusty, the Birmingham Grand Prix is an Athletics Diamond League event!
And the reason I have kept my afternoon "free"!
I am sorry if I did not make that clear?
I perhaps just assumed that you would know. as it happens every year.
Anyway, I am all set to enjoy it!
(and I told you the wrong time, it started at 1.30)
But it is very kind of you to help out a neighbour with dumping stuff!
Yes, still beautiful here, too, although we are supposed to have rain later this afternoon.

Hello, Elle!
Right, I am with you now!
Athletics!
I thought it may be the F1 racing, which bores me witless.
Just takes a short time to help someone out.
My son has a van and he helped, too.
The lady's husband died a few weeks ago and she wanted a bit of a clear out.
All done. Even roped in Miss La Bamba to help!
La Bamba tuned in her remote control for the TV for her, too, so a good day's work.
We were well rewarded with coffee and ginger nut biscuits!
Not long until the golf starts.
Think there will be a lot of whooping and hollering over in Iowa!

Hi, Rusty!
It has been a great afternoon so far at the Muller Athletics in Birmingham!
Eilish MColgan got a PB in the 3000m, coming in fifth.
It was the track reporter's, Phil Jones', final day as he is retiring, and Eilidh Doyle put in a surprise appearance to give him a present!
He was quite overcome!
The studio folk knew this was going to happen, but Phil didn't !
Still a few more important races to go, including Mo Farah's final race ..........

Hi, Rusty!
Our previous posts crossed
I have only just seen your message about Cherry and the Osprey blog!
So I have just read what she has to say.......
It is good to be updated at last!
Now........Mo Farah won his final track race very convincingly!
A nice way to go out!
He will move on to Marathon and road racing.
Well done, Mo!

Hello, Elle!
Not before time that Cherry updated the blog!
That is good news from the Athletics competition!
Great news from Iowa.
Europe is fighting back.
This may go to the wire!
I have never heard of the last three European players.
So fingers crossed for them.
Young Georgia Hall (Eng) is playing great against one US lady who I am not a fan of, Paula Creamer.
And Lexi is getting beaten from Anna Nordqvist.
So, it is exciting stuff!

Hey, Rusty!
So how is your golf going?
Who is currently winning?
Oh dear.....
I am having great trouble in staying awake!
I think my very hectic ( though extremely enjoyable !) week with my grandsons is fast catching up with me!
I am enjoying reading (when I can keep my eyes open) a new detective thriller by Peter Robinson.
Lightweight.......but entertaining!
I bought it, along with a few other books, on my last visit to Sainsburys!
I have finished my last consignment from Amazon.
Time for another browse online......, methinks!

Hello, Elle!
The Americans have retained the Cup.
Been a great contest.
Wonderful comeback from 4 down by Lexi to halve her match.
I was cheering both Lexi and Anna.
Lexi's caddie is a Dundee lad, Kevin McAlpine.
Kevin's dad is a local legend.
He played in goal for Dundee United (and took the penalties!)
Yes, nothing like a browse on Amazon!

Hi, Rusty!
I am glad that you have enjoyed the golfing competition!
Yes, and I still have a bit of money in my Amazon account, so will have no need to feel guilty when buying more books!
I may even browse through the latest books out by my favourite authors!
Usually, I am more parsimonious, and buy "used" books - they are such good value and I like a "bargain"!
I have no cousin with whom to chat this evening...she is away for a few days with her family.
They have gone to York.
Now that is a place where I have never been.
I think a coffee is in order to keep me awake!
