Hi, Rusty!
Your tea sounds very good!
We haven't had ours yet!
Thank you for the parsing for 12d.
I though it must be "Leatherhead" - with " leather " for "hide", but I couldn't see were "head" came from?
And I'm afraid that I still don't understand how "head" can mean "personal computer"?
What am I missing here?
Thanks for the update on Makwala!
I switched on the TV just in time to watch his time trial for the 200m Semi Final.
He did well!
This was a good move to attempt to remedy matters re his missing the previous 200m heats - but it doesn't alter the unfortunate fact that he missed the chance of a medal in the 400m .
It seems to be raining even heavier in East London, where the London Stadium is situated, than it is here!

Hello, Elle,
I imagine the setter thinks that we "think" etc with our head, and therefore it is a "personal computer".
That's my take on it, and I can just about see it.
No rain here.
A fine evening in fact!

Hello, Elle!
Who said you were dim?
It was not a wonderful clue!
I have the local football derby game on TV.
Some rain in London.
Great night here!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, oh boy, is it raining!
The Athletics is going well!
A good evening's viewing so far.
Makwala ran his 200m heat and got through.
Ironically, our own GB competitor, Mitchell-Blake, was run out of the automatic qualifying places by his presence in that heat!
But M-B hopefully will get though as a fastest loser......
I hope your local football team is doing well?

Hello, Elle!
I watched a bit of the athletics after the football (our side won).
Very heavy rain!
I was reading about the dips in the main road through Kerry.
The local TD (like our MP's) said the dips are caused by the fairy folk.
The fairy forts have been disturbed and the fairy folk are taking revenge!
I am on the side of the fairy folk in this.
They should be left in peace!
I have no picture from the loch again.

Good morning, Rusty!
Our rain has finally stopped!
But the ground was somewhat poggy - and the dog very muddy - on our walk this morning!
The conditions were certainly terrible for the Athletics yesterday evening!
Let us hope that today's weather will be kinder.
Have you still got sunshine?
Now......I have been invited out for a late breakfast!
So I am away to change out of my dog walking gear.........before my friend comes to collect me very shortly.
I am looking forward to it!
Catch you later.........

Good morning, Elle!
Dry here!
Yes let us hope this evening is dry for the athletics.
I was not getting a picture from the Loch since yestreen, so I emailed them this morning.
I got a very prompt friendly reply from Gillian saying that it is working fine now, (it is).
So that is pleasing! Well done the Loch rangers!
Hope you enjoy your late breakfast!

Hello, Elle.
The rangers think that Lassie has left for Africa.
No confirmed sightings of her since Saturday.
Hope she has a safe journey!

Yes, a fine day here, too!
A bit cooler than of late - this morning's temperature was only 13C.
I had a very enjoyable (late) breakfast!
I guess you could more appropriately call it "brunch"?
Delicious anyway!
I have just been reading the Osprey blog....it seems that Lassie is thought to have departed for Africa on Saturday, August 5th.
That was her last sighting here.
The "chicks " have now to "master" the art of fishing, before they themselves leave, most probably by the beginning of September.
Laddie will teach them?
Right, now to take a look at the crossword!
