Good afternoon, Rusty!
It is still raining cats and dogs here........
I wonder where this rather strange expression comes from?
My second book from World of Books has arrived!
This is also just in a polythene bag, but this time the book is in pristine condition!
I might well have bought it straight from a bookshop!
I am very pleased!
So.......two new books to read!
Have you finished your second one by Michael Morpurgo?

Good afternoon, Elle!
Yes, I have finished both of the books.
I have been this morning trying to get my chromebook back to the way I had it.
I "accidentally" wiped everything from it, and am trying to rescue it.
Many changes to it, and none for the better, but all my photos are safe in the cloud.
I can see me visiting Curry's for another one!
Cats and dogs have a link with Odin, don't they?
I have not seen anything about the Botswana runner.
But I know Elaine Thompson made no secret of her being sick before she raced.
A rule for one and not the other?
Will they stop Mo Farah running if he is unwell, or Usain Bolt?

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, well done!
Of course.....you are right........Odin is the link!
I had never thought of that!
I still don't understand this "in the cloud" business?
But I am glad that all your photographs are safe!
They will be precious memories.
Is Miss O'Hara's photo still up on the billboard?
I wasn't sure how long the exhibition lasted?
Did you not buy a paper this morning, Rusty?
Isaac Makwala's sad story is plastered all over the back page and continued on page 58.
Yes, I agree with you, Elaine Thompson spoke openly about her sickness.
And as I said earlier ......
Why not one overall rule for all?

Hello, Elle!
I have not looked at my paper.
I have been trying to fix my computer.
I do not understand the "cloud" business, too.
But it works, whatever it is!
"Google Photos" is a great app.
I recommend it.
I am going to have a quick look at the puzzle before my tea!

I don't understand !

Did or did not Elaine Thompson report her being sick to the
medical centre before she ran?
Because if she did not report it then, but only mentioned it
afterwards, then it could explain why she did not have a ban.

Perhaps most the other athletes did not mention their being
ill before their event, precisely to avoid being stopped from
taking part.

The short answer there, Pigale, is that I personally do not know whether or not Ms Thompson reported to the Medical Centre!
But I'm not sure it's necessarily relevant?
The point I was attempting to make was that it was well known - to the Athletics' Officials and the public - that other athletes (besides Isaac Makwala) who were already competing, had previously been vomiting.
Whether or not anyone put in a report to the Medical Centre , this sickness was an accepted fact.

Hi, Rusty!
I don't understand "apps", either, though!
All this modern technology is too much for me to absorb!
And remember, too, that my mobile phone does nothing but ring and text?
I cannot download "apps".... or take photos.... or whatever else advanced technology advocates!
I am a dinosaur...and happy to be so!
I thought today's 15 x 15 was reasonable?
But couldn't parse 12d?
I will say no more at this stage in case I spoil your own offerings.
What are you having for tea?

Yes, I see - so perhaps Isaac Makwala would have been better
off not to mention anything? (I have read somewhere that
he presented himself voluntarily to the medical centre)

Unless they particularly wanted to exclude him, something
which has been suggested.....

Anyway, it all sounds a dirty mess to me!

Hello, Elle!
Still a fine day here.
Apps can be downloaded to tablets and computers, too.
They are programmes invented by folk which can make life simpler or less hassle whilst using them.
Like "AdBlock" for instance.
I had a pork pie for my tea, and it was very nice!
12, Well the answer is "Leatherhead" which is a town in Surrey.
"Hide" is "leather", and it looks like "personal computer" is "head" according to our setter!
I can just about see it!
Now, I believe the sick runner from Botswana is getting to run an individual time trial for the 200 metres this evening, to see will he qualify.
And I hope you have no questions about it because that is all I know!
