Hello Elle and Rusty,

Pïgale is pleased indeed! What a great race by Warren, and such
a pleasant lad.

Bardet is 2nd of the Classement Général, so French rides are
definitely on the 'up' this year.

A difficult finish so high up in the mountains! Nice scenery.

Disappointing that Thomas Voeckler did not 'shine' more on this,
his last year on the Tour - He tried and managed to show his
nose, but I really think that his legs are due for retirement,
from the Tour at least. I will miss him.

I've been away and just watched the highlights of today's stage of the TdF - what a terrific stage!

Unfortunately I missed most of it - had an appointment with my
GP - but I was lucky to be back in time to see the last 3.8 kms -
That was quite something! What a tremendous effort by Warren
Barguil
Would not be surprised if he was a future overall winner of the Tour.

Hello, Pigale!
I thought you would be pleased with Barguil!
And yes, Romain Bardet is second in the GC.
it looks like Froome will take the Yellow Jersey to Paris, now.
I was hoping (still am) for a French win but I think Froome is strong enough to repel attacks and is usually very strong in the time trial.
Voeckler only put his nose in the wind on one stage.
Father Time has caught up with the bold Thomas!
I will miss him, too.

Hello, Elle,
Good luck with your puzzle!
My son brought me a roast chicken dinner from the butcher.
I am very pleased!
We watched the final holes of the golf.
Was very good.
One player, Justin Thomas, wore a collar and tie, and cardigan today!
Very unusual nowadays!

Hi, Rusty!
You will have had a good time with your son and caught up on all the news in person, plus enjoying watching the golf together.
And a chicken dinner for tomorrow sounds very nice and appetising!
I gave up on the crossword puzzle, and decided first to catch up on a couple of episodes of "Casualty" that I had missed...and then to read my book.
I am gradually getting back on track.....I had recorded a number of programmes whilst the tennis was on.
Is it tomorrow that the cycling finishes?
I am now going to make a coffee......

Hello, Pigale!
I am sorry , but I have only just seen your post!
You seem to have been enjoying Le Tour.
You will miss it! especially as it has served such a useful purpose in entertaining you whilst you have been incapacitated.
i hope that as it draws to its close, you are now ready to go out more?
But take care...don' t do too much. too soon.

No Elle, I won't do too much too soon because I can't!

I managed to walk down to my GP this afternoon but it took half
an hour (as opposed to 10mns max) and made three stops!
And on my way back I stopped to The Tavern to see my friends
the owners and the lady kindly gave me a lift up the hill.
Just as well as I could not have managed and was considering
taking a taxi!
I have all sorts of tests to do eventually, and yes, ..... I shall do
them ! :)

How is your toe?

Hello, Elle!
No it is not tomorrow the cycling finishes!
I am sure I have told you before the Tour ends on Sunday!
The Tour coming home to Paris is a great sporting occasion!
The whole wide world and his wife know about it!
I shall look forward to the chicken dinner!
A Friday tea time treat for me.
I have been browsing on YouTube.
"How to hang a door"
I am not going to try it, though.
I know my limitations!

Good morning, Rusty!
It is sunny here, at the moment, although rain is promised later, and I think we are in for a wet weekend.
Yes, you DID tell me that the cycling finishes on Sunday!
I have checked back.....
I do apologise ...I had forgotten!
Put it down to my being tired and addle -pated!
I have a clear weekend ahead.... as both daughters and families are off on their holidays!
One lot are going to Mauritius... the other to the Netherlands!
We, as I think I told you, are looking after our younger daughter's cat!
Right, time first for a coffee and a look at the crossword.......
Then I need to hoover.....
What are you up to?

Good afternoon, Elle!
Pretty dull here.
Had an eventually positive morning.
Had a sticking door lock which I did not like.
So, a quick call to a handyman I know and he was here within the hour and all is well again!
He adjusted bits of the locks/latches and chiseled a bit of the doorframe and all is well again.
Hope you and the cat take to each other!
The puzzle was tricky today.
Just finished it!
I have the golf on (a bit blowy at Birkdale!)
And shall watch the Tour, too.
