Hi, Rusty!
Uhm...... I hope you aren't thinking of doing a survey?
"Excuse me , Sir / Madam , could you tell me....?"
You have to tell me what prompted you to look that up?!
I have already spoken with BB on the phone to congratulate him!
Yes, I think a little "treat" is in order, don't you?
The Pine Cone tomorrow sounds good!

Hello, Elle,
I think Tommy had been ill for a while.
Not sure what with.
Did you like the "lint" definition?
Some great ones throughout the dictionary.
Yes, you should reward BB, I think.
Jonathan, at the loch, is leaving.
Think he has been there for seven years.
He is going to a new post in the Shetlands somewhere.
I am looking forward to the Pine Cone tomorrow!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, the definition of "lint" made me chuckle!
I just got a tad carried away by the image of you going around taking a survey and asking folk how much lint they had accumulated in their.........?"
I really do not know how you manage to come across these peculiar definitions!!
I have been getting newsletters about the osprey site from 'Jonathan'.
I did not know that he was leaving.
And speaking of leaving.... how soon will it be before the ospreys set forth for Africa?
The chicks will have to learn to fish first , though, and generally fend for themselves , won't they?
I wonder what surprises /shocks the tennis will bring forth tomorrow?

Good morning, Elle!
Fine day here.
Lassie will leave in about 3 weeks, then the chicks.
They are only about 10 to 12 weeks old when they leave.
Laddie is last to go.
He stays to feed the chicks.
Last year he left for Africa on 30th August.
I have still to see Martina Hingis this year.
She was a favourite of mine.
I know she is in both doubles.
The Tour is in the mountains today!
Look up "tweenager"!

Good morning, Rusty!
A beautiful day here.....and becoming warm again!
Lovely out though at this time of day.
I have finished my duties as fish guardian........my friend returned home last night!
I am expecting her round for coffee some time this morning.
I like "tweenager"!
Someone obviously has a sense of humour!
Now....you may wish to desert your cycling briefly this afternoon in order to watch some tennis?
Jo is second on Centre Court today (play commences at 1 pm) playing Venus Williams.
And (one of your favourites) Martina Hingis, and Jamie Murray, are on third, playing two Brits ( of whom I have never heard)
You were only saying that, so far, you hadn't managed to see Martina H!
(I'm still awaiting my bear?)
What time are you and Miss O going out?

Hello, Elle!
Le Tour is on TV now.
Great day in the Pyrenees, so far!
But roads are wet.
One of my favourite riders, Jakob Fuglsang, fell off yesterday and has two small fractures in an elbow and wrist.
He has started today and I hope he makes the finish.
(his name, Fuglsang, means Birdsong).
So, the racing has priority today, may see bears and vultures!
The Scottish Open Golf is on, too.
I discovered that the women's Wimbledon trophy is called the "Venus Rosewater Dish".
Now, if I was a betting man I would see that as an omen, as to who may win it!
Miss O is to collect me at 11 but she will be late as per usual.
Granddaughters!!!

HI, Rusty!
I am halfway through the 15 x 15........doing it in order as usual........stuck now on 17d.....
Yes, you sound as though you will have a busy day!
Going out first with your granddaughter, then watching cycling and golf later.
I am bit surprised, though, that you do not want to watch Martina?
Miss O may yet surprise you -- and arrive on time!
Enjoy your outing!

Hello, Elle
Cycling takes priority!
Will watch golf and tennis when I can.
17d had a quick look at it.
Ask yourself what do you do with your brain.
Answer is a plural, meaning a group of folk who use their brains.
Off out now!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
Are you home again now ?
I hope you had a good time at the Pine Cone?
I have solved 17d.......
t h inkers!
I just did not see "monkeys" as "tinkers"!
But was rather trying to fit in a "breed" of monkey!
Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!
Time for me to watch some tennis.......
Enjoy your cycling......
Yell if you see a bear!

Hello, Elle!
Visibility not too good in the mountains!
Will be chilly too!
No sign of any bears...yet.
Or vultures.
Great day at the golf, though!
Have you completed your puzzle?
