Hi, Rusty!
I really do not know about the "usage" of cockney slang......I only know some of the terms!
I think "frog and toad " is just a general word for "road"?
But I would suppose that if one wanted to put it at the end of a road's title, then it might well be "Tottenham Court frog and toad?
This is only a surmise, mind you......I am sure if it is wrong, someone will correct me!
I have been watching "Eggheads"...one of the Challengers was a finger print expert and crime scene examiner.
That must be an interesting profession.
I have only previously come across this in books.....!
How is Rickie getting on?

Hello, Elle!
I am putting the slang carry on behind me.
I just wish the setters were less parochial.
Rickie has not started his second round yet.
He was out early yesterday, so will be teeing off later today.
One of my granddaughters has a degree in forensic science.
I have just discovered that my local ASDA is no longer open 24 hours, but from 5 a.m. to midnight.
Plenty enough for me.

Hi, Rusty!
I enjoy reading books involving forensic science - although these have only been fictional stories.
But I am not very well- informed on the subject.
So what does your granddaughter do for a career ?
Is she still pursuing the forensic path?
It must be very interesting...and very ongoing, as there are so many updates to this science?
Your local Asda opens long hours, even if now only 5am till midnight!
Our nearest store is a Sainsburys - mostly open from 8am till 9pm, I think.

Hello, Elle!
Miss O is going to teach science at a school after the holidays.
I have a Tesco very close to me too, but I very rarely go there.
I prefer ASDA.
Staff are much friendlier there.
That's important to me, as often they are the only folk I speak to during the day.
I like the banter!
ALDI has planning permission to build a store next to ASDA.
I have not been to an ALDI store.

Hi, Rusty!
Ah, it is Miss O who has the forensic science degree.
I think that must have been a fascinating subject to study.
Yes, I knew she was going to teach.
I am surprised that Aldi was given planning permission to build next to an already existing store?
Is there enough local custom to support two stores, especially next to each other?
Mind you, it could well be to your advantage - there will most probably be an ensuing price war...and you may get competitive lower prices!
I have been looking at next week's TV guide.
I have Queen's Club tennis every afternoon !

Hello, Elle!
When ASDA wanted to come here, TESCO objected, and it took a few years for ASDA to successfully get permission.
Same is happening now with ALDI.
You have the Birmingham tennis every day too.
Did you manage your puzzle today?

US Open update, Elle!
Brooks Koepka is one shot ahead of Rickie.
Now, the bad news.
A blimp has crashed on the course and the pilot suffered burns,
A spectator died on the course yesterday.
And, at a hydration station on the course they have tested the water and if was infected with e. coli.
They are now handing out bottled water.

Elle,
And the architect who designed the course is serving 35 years in jail for murdering his wife.
Some place, Wisconsin!

Hi, Rusty!
My abject apologies........ but I couldn't access the site to reply!
My computer went bonkers and has been repeatedly updating itself!
I used to be able to set a specific time for updates.....I don't know what has gone wrong?
This is the second time the computer has done this to me?
It simply "takes over" in the middle of whatever I am doing?
Now...the tennis......there actually seem to be three Aegon tournaments, I think?
There is another at Nottingham?
But it is a simple decision for me as to what to watch.
Queens is being televised on the BBC!
So I can watch in comfort from the sofa!
Now the golf.....is one shot in front very significant - it doesn't sound it?....but I don't know much about golf!
I know you are routing for Rickie! and I don't know the other fellow?
Wisconsin sounds "blighted"!
I need a coffee after my struggle with the computer!

Hello, Elle!
My Chromebook has no problems like that.
Updates are a matter of switching it off and on again.
i find it more stress free than a laptop.
Chromebook has been a good buy.
I think you are right regarding Aegon.
One shot is not significant at all.
They are not half way yet.
I would like to see Rickie win, but we shall see.
On Sunday Rickie will be dressed head to toe in orange, the colours of his old University, Oklahoma State.
He always dresses so on the final day of a tournament.
I like Wisconsin. Beautiful skies there.
The sky "appears" to be very high?
And I like the course.
It has proper rough.
