Hello, Elle!
I think the standard is lower this year.
Disappointed in the choir.
They were much better in their heat.
If I had to choose two acts for the final it would be the Pensioners and Mersey Girls.
Reuben Gray was not too bad either.
And it is now raining here!

Hi, Rusty!
Well.....for me , it did indeed "improve"!
I thought the two old gentlemen, Henry and Malcolm - "The Pensionalities" - were great!
Good for them!
They would make a good stand up comedy act, too!
Their interchanges with each other (off stage) are very amusing!
I thought Jonny Awsum could hold an audience in his hand - a good attribute.
He had the entire House taking part.
But his act would always rely on a receptive audience.......without that, the act would fall very flat.
But the stars of the night , for me, were undoubtedly the "Mersey Girls"!
They were terrific!
A beautiful and moving performance.
And very original.
Well, we shall soon see what the result of the voting is......

Hello, Elle!
I agree with the choices for the final.
I really like the Mersey Girls.
Such naturally very nice young ladies. I approve!
I think Simon hinted that he and BGT would pay for Julia's operation if they do not win.
So, one heat to go.
Not sure who is in it apart from the Missing Folk Choir, and they will have the sympathy vote, understandably.
Was good to see Richard Jones back!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I totally agree with you!
I did have an anxious moment when the Mersey girls were the runner-ups....I thought that the young singer / songwriter might then prove to be the winner.
But I was glad to see that it was Henry and Malcolm!
Did Simon really imply that BGT might fund Julia's operation?
I was multi-tasking at the time (reading !) so only caught a bit of it, and wasn't sure what I had (partially) heard?
That would be a lovely gesture!

Good morning, Elle!
A bit dreich here today!
Simon said something like, "whatever happens, we are going to make sure you are in a good place".
That is being interpreted as "we will pay for your operation."
Hope that is the case.
The Missing Folk Choir may not be the most talented but they have the sympathy vote (very understandably) and I think they will win.
The Mersey Girls are very personable young ladies and I think the country are getting right behind them now.
But one semi to go and let's see what happens there!

Good morning, Rusty!
Another sunny, very warm day here - although at the moment we are forecast rain for later .
I am just back from my walk, but it was unpleasantly humid even at such an early hour.
I did stay out longer - and walked further - than usual, as I doubt very much it will be suitable to take the dog out again later on.
Yes, it certainly sounds as though Simon (and/ or? ) BGT is going to pay for Julia's operation, should the troupe fail to win the contest (or maybe even anyway?)
A nice thing to do.
I remember an Impressionist, whom I thought was very good.
She, I presume, will be in tonight's Semi- final?
Along with the Missing People's Choir.
I think you are right in saying the choir might well get a sympathy vote....although I do not go along with that.
Sorry for them though I am , the acts should be judged on merit.
Ah well, we shall see what happens...and what the judges will do with their "Wild card"?
How is your daughter- in - law's dad doing?

Hello, Elle!
Jess Robinson is the impressionist.
She is very experienced.
A regular turn at the Edinburgh Festival.
My problem with impressionists is that I rarely know who they are doing because I do not know the folk they are doing!
Sharon Osborne?
I know the name but have no idea what she looks or sounds like.
The public will vote for whoever takes their fancy.
There are no hard and fast rules involved as we have seen with the expulsion of the Chinese and Russian acts and we do not know why.
I have no idea who the wild card will be.
The Chinese acrobats would suit me.
Not heard from my daughter-in-law, so far.

Hi, Rusty!
It has gone very black here...I am hoping for some of this promised rain!
The garden certainly could do with it.
Speaking of which.......our gardener has just sent in his invoice for all the work he has done so far for us.
He has been very good to us, as he did lots of extra bits and pieces ...and did not add the cost of any of it to his original estimate!
He is a good guy!
He is also going to power-wash our back patio - and our front paving - and then re-point the former.
Date and time still to be arranged.
We shall be very smart!
Daughter returned home from Berlin yesterday - I received a late night text to say she had reached home safely.
We shall catch up this evening.
I am watching the Roland Garros on ITV4 - Rafa Nadal is two sets up on his opponent Nikoloz Bashilashvili.
It is good to see Rafa back on form after all his previous health issues.
Have you been watching any of the tennis?

Hello, Elle!
Good your daughter is home safe!
Your gardener sounds the real deal!
I have not watched TV today.
The young ones are very excited and are sending me photos.
My youngest granddaughter has had several photos taken and they are part of an exhibition in town.
The photographer advertised for ginger headed Dundonians to take part in his project/exhibition and young Miss O'Hara was among those selected.
It is an open air exhibition and they tell me her photo is almost seven feet tall!
It is years since I have been to town but I shall have to visit the exhibition!
It has turned into a nice day here!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, David is one of the good ones!
We have known each other for years.
He tends to be somewhat expensive compared with other local quotes , but we have learned from bitter experience that you "get what you pay for"!
He does a really good (thorough and reliable) job!
Well done, Miss O'Hara!
Following in her namesake's footsteps?
Seven foot tall? Wow!
Yes, you shall have to go and visit the exhibition!
Is there a "theme" to the exhibition? other than being a redhead?
The rain didn't arrive....it is boiling hot and still very oppressive !
Novak Djokovic is playing now......the trouble is that I do not know any of the "opponents"!
I shall go and wash my hair.......
