Good morning, Elle,
A cloudy day here, and cool.
I have just finished the puzzle.
I found it tough today!
Took me over an hour to complete.
I was out walking earlier and am heading to the Nature Trail later today.
That's it.
I have put a wee bet on Angelicus Celtis to win BGT.
They are on tonight!
How are you and Miss Peckwitt getting on?

Hi, Rusty!
I am completely "wiped out" by this oppressiveness from which we are suffering!
According to the weather forecast, the maximum temperature should only be 23C!
Perhaps the weather man would like to come and stand in my back garden?
Although admittedly, it is the humidity that is largely so overpowering.......
No movement of air at all, and outside I feel suffocated, as though under a huge thick blanket....
Ugh....horrible!
Oh, for some (heavy) rain!
I envy you your energy!
Miss P and I are at a standstill....."The Shine of Rainbows" - which I recommended to you - was the last of her books that I have.
Next "spending spree," I shall certainly take a look to see what else she has written, though, as I have enjoyed her stories so much.
I am reading Mac's autobiography at the moment....it as very much as he talks.....I can see him behind every word!
A dry and (truthful) humour!
How do you know which talent acts are on tonight?

Hello, Elle,
"The Spuddy" was a well received book of Miss Peckwitt's.
I do not know any more than that, though.
A fine day here now.
I Googled tonight's line up.
Just Us are on too, (the dance group in which one of them has scoliosis, Julia?).
They have changed their name though (and I've forgotten it!)
The hula hoop lad is on too.
And I think The Pensionaires (the two old lads singing).
I liked them!

Hi, Rusty!
Now, why didn't I think of Googling the line up....?
The heat has definitely got to my head!!!
Actually, I don't really have any such excuse, ....we have now erected our fans (stored in the loft ) and indoors has become quite cool and pleasant!
I wonder why the change of names?
"Just Us " has changed its name to "Mersey Girls" and "The Pensionaires" to "The Pensionalities".
I think it strange to alter their titles at this stage of the game?
Now..........I have a leading question for you?
Who decides what acts are on when?
ie. Who competes against whom????
Surely this is an all important decision - and could make or break someone's career?
It could - it will - make a huge difference to the outcome of the voting!

Hello, Elle!
I think Just Us had a name clash with another act.
Possibly they had to change for legal reasons.
I do not know about the Pensionaires.
Which acts are on when?
I imagine, (I do not know) that it is the producers of the show.
You will not see, for instance, two choirs on the same night.
We have the Welsh girls tonight, and the Missing Folk tomorrow night.
I saw the disapproving look in Simon Cowell's face when Ned got through last night.
Not impressed!
He should be more professional.

Good evening, Rusty!
Did you fit in your trip round the Nature Trail?
I made it to the postbox to send a birthday card, but it was so humid out, that we decided against a second walk this afternoon and remained indoors.
I think we may have rain tomorrow.......I am hoping for a change of atmosphere!
I didn't see Simon's face when Ned won through to the Final......but possibly his expression was mirrored on mine!
I thought Ned was a precocious little brat!
I found his attitude and "jokes" inappropriate for a nine year old!
What did you think of him?
I am looking forward to tonight's session of BGT though.
I like some of the prospective acts, and will be interested to see what they make of a second performance.
I gave up on the 15x 15........strangely "Mae West" was also the focus of a question on "15 to1"!

Hello, Elle!
I think Ned has a scriptwriter.
I do not think his patter comes off the top of his head.
He did not appeal to me, but that's showbiz !
But, I liked seeing Simon Cowell getting put in his place.
He told Sarah she was the best singer ever on BGT.
That is very debatable. I did not rate her singing at all.
Lucy Kay was a super singer.
Susan Boyle was a fine singer as well.
Maybe Sarah was on the wrong show?
Remember these judges are the folk who voted the Robot, and the hula hoop man, and the lady playing records, into the semis.
So, how much do they know!

Hi, Rusty!
I think the judges promote a number of the rather inept / "funny"/ whacky/ elements through into the Semi finals in order to maintain a supposedly light-hearted comedy aspect?
That is the very bit of BGT that I do not like!
I prefer it when we are down to the "nitty- gritty" of the "genuine" acts.......
I'm admitting to being disappointed so far tonight......
What do you think?
It might improve....?

Hello, Elle!
I think the standard is lower this year.
Disappointed in the choir.
They were much better in their heat.
If I had to choose two acts for the final it would be the Pensioners and Mersey Girls.
Reuben Gray was not too bad either.
And it is now raining here!

Hi, Rusty!
Well.....for me , it did indeed "improve"!
I thought the two old gentlemen, Henry and Malcolm - "The Pensionalities" - were great!
Good for them!
They would make a good stand up comedy act, too!
Their interchanges with each other (off stage) are very amusing!
I thought Jonny Awsum could hold an audience in his hand - a good attribute.
He had the entire House taking part.
But his act would always rely on a receptive audience.......without that, the act would fall very flat.
But the stars of the night , for me, were undoubtedly the "Mersey Girls"!
They were terrific!
A beautiful and moving performance.
And very original.
Well, we shall soon see what the result of the voting is......
