Good afternoon, Rusty!
Thank you for the update on Lassie!
I have tried to look in, but cannot see the nest - it is partially obscured - there must be a fault, I think?
I read the blog though, and apparently the two birds have not yet met up!
That will be something to which to look forward! I hope we can see it!
You missed a treat with "The Admirable Crichton"!
(It is a very old film; I must have been knee -high to a grasshopper when I saw it, and that was later, when shown on television)
I have only seen the film, which was a classic comedy, based on J.M. Barrie's (he of "Peter Pan" fame ) stage play of 1902.
Google it and read the plot......?
My friend has texted me, calling off our jaunt tomorrow.
She says she has "cold feet" about travelling up to London at the moment, which I can quite understand.
I think we shall wait a couple of weeks for events to settle down and then make another attempt to meet up.
Our plan was/ still is to see the Russian Art exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts. We have until April 17th before it finishes.
So might yet make it!

Hi Elle, Rusty et al,

Thanks for the up-date Rusty; I feel frustrated because I had the nest on my screen for a fair while earlier on, but must have stopped watching just before she landed!

Just had a peep but no one in the nest at present;

Hello, Elle and Pigale!
I got a Tweet from the loch and switched the on the site.
Lassie had landed, then Laddie flew in.
After a few minutes Laddie flew off and returned soon after with a fish which Lassie took from him, rather noisily!
She then took off with the fish. Probably to a nearby branch to eat her meal in peace.
So, both "our" birds are back from Africa!
Good news!

Yes Rusty! it's great to have both of them back!

I am also looking forward to seeing the owlets in Dorset develop their feathers etc..... I think what they have now is more like down and they are all white.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, it is good to know that Lassie is back!
I have still not seen both birds together, though.
And the nest was empty the last time I looked.
Very frustrating!
Has your son been round to see you this evening?
It will have been nice for you both to have a chat.
Very cold here.......

Hello, Elle!
Yes, everything back to normal at the loch.
Even had a visit from one of the crows yesterday.
Yes, my son has just gone.
He brought me a silverside meal from the butcher!
I see Wendy Houvenaghel has condemned British Cycling for their bullying, sexist practices, and the way they treated her.
I was hoping Wendy would speak out.
She was practically a neighbour of mine once.
She studied dentistry in Dundee!
And seeing you mentioned Douglas Bader, Wendy's rank in the RAF was squadron leader!
A very nice lady.
It is fairly chilly here, too.

Hi, Rusty!
Your son does bring you some mouth-watering meals!
I love beef!
Yes, I saw some of the comments that Wendy Houvenaghel had made.
She said that British Cycling's approach of "a medal at any cost" had caused a "culture of fear".......
However did she manage to combine being a dentist with being an RAF Squadron Leader, and also a competitive cyclist?
So how do you think the investigation is going?
In "15 to 1" tonight, there was a question about Victoria Pendleton......
I cannot recall the exact wording, but the gist of it concerned the title of Victoria's autobiography ...... basically, the contestant had to complete the title "Between the ? "
I feel sure you know the answer!

Hello, Elle!
Wendy was a top class rider.
World champ several times.
I never saw her in uniform though, just a skinsuit!
She was always very elegant.
Not sure how she fitted all her activities in.
That is the way sport used to be.
Folk had proper jobs, and had sport as a pastime.
I think the investigation is struggling to uncover the truth.
So far Team Sky and BC are not telling the truth.
That is natural to them.
Best getting, Wendy, Nicole, Emma, Vic, Jess, Dame Sara, to give evidence.
And the Paracyclists, too.
Between the Lines was Queen Vic's book.
Yes, my son is very good to me.
I'll have the silverside for my tea tomorrow.

Good morning, Rusty!
A fine day but extremely cold!
Everyone is back in their "winter woollies" and thick padded coats!
I am taking the dog for a trim next week (she is very shaggy!) so I hope it warms up again before then!
I have a free day today, now that my friend is no longer coming up to town......
I think I shall be "lazy" ....especially as the weekend promises to be hectic.
Coffee, apple and cheese - and crosswords - are first on the agenda.......
How about you?
Any plans?

Good day, Elle!
Fine day here, not very cold.
I'm being collected by my friends later and going to Pine Cone.
Then I have the E3 race in Belgium to watch in the afternoon.
My granddaughter, Miss O, finishes her teacher placement training today.
She got a very nice card from the third years, saying,
"Goodbye and good luck, Miss O,
and thanks for the biscuits! X"
She is very pleased! Me too!
Lassie made the News on BBC Scotland, website.
Headline, "Lassie Comes Home"!
A bit of a star, this bird!
