Good morning, Elle!
Lovely day here.
The camera is focused on the nest after the work they did yesterday.
I have watched most of the athletics.
Bike races are tomorrow, Strade Bianche, in Tuscany, then on Sunday it is the first stage of Paris-Nice.
Just watched Steph Twell, Eilish, and Laura.
Laura runs again at 16.05.
Yes, off to see the nurse later.
Miss La Bamba is taking me for a bacon roll tomorrow!

Hi, Rusty!
Still wet here.......
"The best laid plans of mice and men".....
I haven't really seen anything of the athletics this morning!
It has been "one of those days"......
My husband hurt his back on Wednesday - digging up the garden when I was out with our daughter!
I stress that I was out at the time, or I shouldn't have let him do so much digging!!
So he is moving....... but slowly and carefully!
Then neighbours have been round about the burglary up the road.
And then the phone has been ringing....
My morning "went to pot"!
I haven't yet seen any races of note!
I am going to attempt to sit down now - with a coffee - and watch some of it retrospectively, before we go out later to YB's birthday tea party.
We shan't need to leave till about 3.30 so I should have time to catch up!
Whew....deep breath and plod on!

Hi, Rusty!
Update........
I have just managed to fit in watching this morning's session of (recorded) Athletics!
All went well, didn't it?
Good to see Eilish, and especially Steph Twell, after all her health issues, coming through so well in the 3000m
And Laura as usual had all under control!
The Final on Sunday should be good!
And Laura competes again later this afternoon in the 1500m.
I shall miss that and will have to watch it on our return this evening.
I hope all goes well at the doctors.
We are away out shortly.

Hello, Elle!
I think movement is best for sore backs.
Your husband will mend soon enough.
I am sure your neighbours are very concerned about the burglary.
Have the culprits been apprehended yet?
Hope you enjoy the birthday tea!
My results from the nurse are all good, she says.
A fine afternoon here.
Rain tomorrow, I think.

Good evening, Rusty!
We are finally home again!
I think our last posts must have crossed?
I am glad that your test results are all okay.
That is indeed good to hear!
YB had a great birthday! He was very excited by his cake and the one BIG candle - which Big Brother blew out for him!
But he managed to rip open his presents completely unaided!
He certainly got the idea of the occasion!
I expect you have been watching the Athletics?
I am about to go and sit down on the sofa.........and watch my recordings!

Hello, Elle!
Hope you brought a bit of birthday cake home for Mr Jingles?
That's good you enjoyed the tea party!
I watched quite a bit of athletics.
Must try and find out when Laura runs tomorrow?
Crossword was tricky today.
Couple of new words for me, and a cockneyism type clue which I have no idea about.
Not a blooming Scooby!
I see Anne Bradford has Scooby for clue!
Not in my Chambers though.

Hi, Rusty!
I am still watching Athletics.......!
I notice that in the morning it is only on BBC for a short while, before continuing on the Red Button.........what a good job that mine now functions!
Although I probably also have the option of watching it on EuroSport Player, though I haven't checked that.
More Athletics too in the afternoon!
A busy day!
Speaking of Mr Jingles........we had a sighting the other evening!
He ran across the room in front of a sleeping cat, and went behind the bookshelves!
I didn't even bother to buy a paper today, as I knew I wouldn't have the time to look at the crosswords!
What is your "Cockney" clue?

Hello, Elle,
That news about Mr Jingles has made my day.
I am glad he is to the fore!
Laura's finals are, Saturday at 18.45.
Sunday, at 15.30.
I have put my paper out, Elle, and can not quite remember the cockney clue.
Something about mince pies being stashed, or vaguely like that.
E?E? (4)
i just leave them if I do not see the answer to this type very quickly.
Frankie Fredericks has been accused of taking bribes now!
He is a senior figure in the IOC, now.
The accusation is that he got a back hander of £245,000 the same day Rio was awarded the Olympic Games.
The corruption in Sport is sickening!
Fair play to Sir Andy.
He has said Sharapova should not get special invites to play in the French Open etc, if she does not qualify by right.

Good morning, Rusty!
A damp one here!
I am just about to take out the dog for her early morning walk - and so will miss the beginning of the Athletics on BBC2!
I hope the dog appreciates my self sacrifice!
But then you will be missing some of it, too, as you are going out with Miss L-B this morning for a bacon roll, aren't you?
And you also have the cycle race - Strade Bianche - to watch at some point?
It is such a pity about Eilidh 's being run out of the 400m.... I never thought that was going to happen.
I was upset to hear about Frankie Fredericks' being accused ....I always liked him.
Is there nothing what it seems?
It seems there is more 'bad' news every day........
Enjoy your time with your granddaughter!

Good morning, Elle!
Only it's not!
Been heavy rain here since yestreen.
La Bamba and me are still going out as long as the roads are OK.
She's the boss!
I liked Frankie too.
It always impressed me that he was a world champion yet his country, Namibia, did not have a running track!
Apparently, he reported himself to the powers that be.
Strange!
