Good morning, Elle!
A good day out you had!
It is a bit dreich up here.
I am just home from getting my paper.
Re the HMRC Help line.
Obviously there are many types of tax and departments for same.
The recorded message asks you to speak a "key phrase".
In my case i said "capital gains tax" and was instantly put through to a very helpful lady who answered my queries and offered suggestions.
Laura runs at 15.50 today.
Jenny Meadows is pacing her to 800 metres then she is (hopefully) on her own!
There was a great pic of her in the paper.
She was in her vet "scrubs" and was pictured with Scotland's largest dog.
A gigantic Great Dane which dwarfed her!
Last day of the World Skiing Champs today.
No more Tina and Jonathan! And Chemmy!

Good morning, Rusty!
Sunny and pleasant here - not as warm as yesterday though!
We were out a little later than usual this morning, which got us involved with the Saturday Running Club!
I rather think all this schemozzle with the HMRC has gone beyond a Help Line, Rusty.
But I think you had a very good idea yesterday when you mentioned the Complaints Department.
I think it is now time for me to contact the HMRC Complaints Department direct.
All I have done so far is to reply personally to the appropriate HMRC staff member who wrote to me.
It is probably high time I made this an "official complaint", don't you think?
I think I will do so in writing , however, as I should like a written record of what is taking place.
I shall send a covering explanatory letter to the Complaints dept, together with copies of my/ and the HMRC staff 's/ previous correspondence.
That should hopefully bring forth "fruit"!
The Birmingham Athletics viewing starts on BBC1 at 1pm.
I shall look forward to watching it, especially Laura!

Hello, Elle!
The Complaints Department should help resolve matters.
A pity you could not go in person to wherever their HQ is.
Good hunting!
Just watching the cross country skiing.
The skiers are super-fit!
Hope Laura runs well.
She had a visit from BBC this week so we get a clip of her doing her "vetting", if that word is apt?
Brightening up here.

Hi, Rusty!
That is good that your weather is bucking up!
Shall you have time to fit in a walk?
The dog is going to have to wait for her second outing, until after the Athletics have finished!
That is my first priority today!
Speaking of Laura's "vetting"..... we are due at the vets on Monday with the cat.
His booster vaccinations are due.
It is a mammoth task, as he hates being put in his carrier basket!
To the contrary, the dog actually likes going! ( unlike most dogs, whom you see being hauled over the threshold!)
I have finished the Times GK crossword ,but have yet to tackle the 15 x 15 Cryptic!
Have you done yours yet?
I must go make a coffee ready for the start of the Athletics programme......

Hello, Elle!
No walk today.
Still sorting out paperwork.
It is a bind!
Watching the athletics.
Some smashing competitors.
Lot of the girls favouring purple lipstick, I see!
I have just completed the crossword.
A good one today.

Hi, Rusty!
I missed some of the athletics earlier on due to receiving a phone call which lasted rather a long time!
But I have the programme recorded, so can watch the part I missed later on!
I have only just heard about James Ellington's and Nigel Levine's motorbike accident last month.
Did you know about it?
It took place in Tenerife whilst they were at a warm weather training camp.
Apparently , the guys' motorbike was hit by a car which was being driven by a tourist on the wrong side of the road.
Both athletes have received very serious and extensive injuries.
They are recovering well, but their future careers may well suffer.
Ellington's injuries were worse - maybe because he was riding pillion?
Anyway, back to the viewing.......

Hello, Elle!
I saw a clip of the motor cyclists recovering from their crash.
I do not know them, however.
Laura ran well to set a new GB record.
She is in excellent form.
Vroum Vroum Mag's younger half brother, Dandy Mag, won on his racing debut in Ireland today!
There is a noticeable stretch in the evenings here.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, it is as well that the days are remaining lighter for longer.
We just managed today, after the Athletics, to take out the dog for a little while!
I had thought you would know Ellington and Levine.
Both are sprinters and are often included in the GB squad.
Especially in the Relay races.
A terrible thing to happen to them.
Laura was fantastic - yet again! - wasn't she?
I saw an interview with her afterwards - on the Red Button!
Rop gave Mo a run for his money towards the end of the race , didn't he? - although I feel sure that Mo really had it all thoroughly under control all along!
We are having fish / sausage and chips from the chip shop for dinner tonight!

Hello, Elle.
No, I do not recognise the injured riders.
I follow several sports and can not remember them all!
I struggle with some of the Asian golfers, for instance.
I am not so sure that Sir Mo is as fit as he could be?
I saw two Tweets from Laura.
In one she was praising Jenny Meadows.
Do you get your fish and chips delivered?
A great idea if you do!
You are putting ideas in my head!
I have a beef casserole in the slow cooker.
Will do me tomorrow, too.

Hello again, Elle!
I have just noticed there are few questions being asked on the Forum today.
Strange?
