Hi, Rusty!
I have got all the household chores out of the way.....dusted and hoovered, and dealt with two loads of washing.......now I have all the rest of the day in which to laze around!
Ummm, I wish!
I have a pile of correspondence I should answer......although I might well work on the premise that what has waited for several weeks could easily wait for another few days?
And read my book instead?
I shall take the dog out mid -afternoon.
That is good news for Laura and Jason!
I am awaiting a phone call from my daughter to tell me the latest update.....
We are looking forward to seeing them all but I do not want the young one to bring germs to his grandad.........

Oh dear! I am being a dinosaur again....I haven't the slightest idea what "Instagram" is?
It sounds as though it might be similar to "Twitter"?
Although that does not help me much, as I don't know how that works either!
Now, family update........
Elder daughter phoned.......the invalid still has a slight fever, but she will assess the situation tomorrow, and then decide what to do.......
So they may still come to stay.
We shall see.
And our younger daughter also rang, so she too is now up-to- date.
YB continues to walk everywhere - crawling is obviously relegated to the past!
Yes, it is amazing how "3 Men in a Tub" has stood the passage of time!
I have a copy somewhere......I must dig it out and read it again!

I was in Anne Bradford's Dictionary today, and under "set" she has "The four hundred".
I have since found out the meaning but it was News to me at the time!

I had no idea to what "the four hundred" might refer?
I did momentarily think about "The Charge of the Light Brigade".......but that was the six hundred!
So I googled it...and found eight definitions, in Wikipedia, for "the four hundred"!
However......... as you found this under "set", can it mean "The Four Hundred, the social elite of New York City in the late 19th century"?
I really have no idea , just making what I think is called an "educated guess"?
I stand ready to be corrected?
What IS the meaning?
I am now going to watch "15 to 1".................and see how many questions I can answer!

I always thought it was the "Seven Seas".
But Chambers assures me there is "the four seas".
The seas surrounding Great Britain, apparently.
Did you know that?
I only know the Irish Sea and the North Sea.
Wonder what the other two seas are?
Does the Atlantic Ocean count as a sea?

I think the four seas surrounding Great Britain are the North Sea, the English Channel, and the Irish Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
Although there was some controversy a few weeks ago, wasn't there about an ocean not being regarded as a sea - or was it the other way around - in one of the crosswords?
(I cannot remember the outcome there?)
I have been watching "15 to 1".
The programme returned (was it last year?) after an 11 year break!
It is hosted by Sandi Toksvig.
I was reading that Sandi based her "posh "accent on that of Celia Johnson, the actress in the film "Brief Encounter".

That would be it if it was.
It is surprising what is hidden away in these dictionaries until you stumble across them.
I do not know 15-1 or Sandi Toksvig, though I have heard of both.
I remember Celia Johnson, though.
And I liked Joyce Grenfell!
Saw a good interview earlier.
Jonathan and Tina were interviewing Ingemar Stenmark.
A very nice man and the best ever skier.
He told Tina she retired too soon!
What he meant was if she still raced she could beat Lindsey Vonn, and stop Lindsey breaking his record!
jonathan has adapted well to the Winter sports.
