Hello, Elle!
Just had a Tweet from Eurosport thanking me for my support!
They and Discovery group have reached a deal with Sky and will stay on Sky platform.
That has made my day!
Yes, I thought it was a right coincidence too, with Caballero.
Your answer is "wadi".
Think they are found in deserts.
Not a great clue though?
Daphne rocks! I like her!

Hi, Rusty!
Thank you for "wadi" - I had never heard of it.
Oh, it is good to hear that you will still be able to watch Eurosport!
You were correct in thinking that Sky would realise that it had too much to lose by going ahead with the split from Discovery.
You did well to wait, and not take any precipitate action.
I see from my new TV guide that Day Two of the Davis Cup is being televised on BBC2 mid -afternoon on Saturday.........but cannot find any other coverage ??
Unless it is planned to show it on the Red button?
Maybe I shall hear more nearer the time?
There is also Nitro Athletics on Sunday afternoon............

Thanks, too, Chris!
A new word for me!

Hello, Elle!
I would have missed Eurosport.
They are showing over two hundred days of cycling this year.
Plus the skiing, athletics, etc.
There was cycling from Australia today.
If you go on a BBC channel, press "text" or the Red Button.
You will get a menu.
Press "Sport", scroll down until you come to "Sport on BBC".
Go in there and work your way down.
It shows you all the sport on Red Button too, that will be on this week.
I will have a look tomorrow if you cannot manage. (It's easy!)
I did not like the clue for "wadi", but maybe I am getting picky as I approach middle age.

I just wonder, rusty - from which direction are you going to "approach middle age"?

Ah, now, Chris, that'd be telling!

Elle, update!
Friday, Red Button, tennis is on from 20.00 to 03.00.
Sunday, Red Button, tennis is on from 17.00 to 23.30.
Sounds OK?

Hi, Rusty!
If I had Eurosport on which to watch the Athletics and the tennis, I would think all my Christmases had come at once!
But being able to access the Red Button on the BBC will obviously greatly improve the scope for me.
Yes, I have managed to bring up the Sports Menu on the Red Button without a problem - having a new remote control that works makes a lot of difference!
I can access the tennis page, too........
but I am at a loss as to where you got the information about the tennis times?
That I cannot find?
There are various icons on the remote control about which I am still in ignorance - although I have been experimenting with it.
It would help if I had a TV manual but my daughter thinks she threw it away!
However, I have googled it and have found the relevant manual for the TV model and should be able to print it all out from the computer.
That will no doubt simplify things for me and make life easier?!
Thank you, you are being very helpful!
P.S. I love the prospect of your approaching middle age!

Good morning, Elle!
You should find the sports schedule for BBC in "Sports Headlines" on text, not under "tennis".
But, in case your set up is not like mine, there is an easy way to find out on your desktop computer.
Go to "BBC" site, where the News, Weather, Sport etc is.
Click on "Sport".
Then, click on "All Sports"
Then, click on "Sport on the BBC".
In there is all the sport for the next seven days to be shown on the BBC channels AND Red Button.
It is quite straightforward, but any problems let us know and we shall provide assistance!
If you find it, it would be an idea to save it as a "favourite" or "bookmark" for the future?
Now, I wonder if is milder outside, today!

Update, Elle!
By far the simplest way is...,
Type "BBC Red Button Programmes" into your computer and the top entry is the page you need, without going through menus and wearing yourself out "clicking"!
Try it!

Middle age is, quite obviously, five years away from your current age.

Good morning, Rusty!
Fell dreich and fairly mild here!
It has taken me quite a while to clean up the dog on my return from my walk!
Have you been out yet for your paper?
Now.........you should be well prepared for writing a book entitled "Red Buttons for Dummies" after dealing with me!
(They are an excellent series!)
I am very appreciative of your efforts to educate me in my technical illiteracy!
Last summer I had easy access to the Red Button list of programmes, but the BBC cancelled the page!
(probably Malone can bear me out here?)
And I did not know that it is now a part of the BBC Sports Section.
Ah, but I do already have the BBC Sports saved in "Favourites", as this is how I have been listening to/ following the Australian Open all last week!
(So I am not completely hopeless?)
And I am looking forward to watching the Davis Cup!
On the Red Button!
I am off out shortly to meet my daughter and youngest grandson for lunch.
YB is now taking a few steps, by the way!
Catch up later........
