Hi, Rusty!
I see......... so just be sensible then, and do what the doctor says, and go back straightaway if you have any further problems.......
No putting off until later.....
Now......the table has not yet materialised!
I ordered it online from Argos this morning, the deal being that I could pick it up from Homebase by 4 pm.
We went to Homebase....no sign of the table!
I was not best pleased.......anyway, the upshot is that it is now being delivered to our home address free of charge between 7 and 8.30 this evening!
Yes, it is self assembly.
My daughter and I are doing a good job of "recycling" between us!
She is having a work table, that we no longer need, for her computer etc.
She works from home one day a week, so this will be very useful for her.
And she is giving us a television.
Waste not, want not! as the saying goes!
Yes, the exploding TV will be taken to the dump!
There is a special section for electronic goods.
Does your son not have snow chains for his tyres?

Good evening, Elle!
Argos are usually pretty good at deliveries.
And surely it is better to get it delivered to home rather than Homebase?
A good trade with your daughter.
TV for a table!
Excellent, save you both money.
You should have your Argos table assembled before the TV arrives?
A wee tip. If held together with screws, put a tiny spot of Fairy liquid on the thread of each screw, and they go in much easier.
Snow chains are only effective on snow, Elle.
Vast majority of the driving is on tarmac, just snow on side or untreated roads.
It just happens to be hilly here.

Hey, Rusty!
Ah, yes, but you see....had I originally organised for the parcel to be delivered here, I should have had to pay a delivery charge.
But there was a free option to collect it from Homebase.......which is only just a short drive from us.
The "free" delivery offer to home only came after the failure to deliver the goods to Homebase at the scheduled time!
Anyway, the table (flat pack) has arrived here within schedule!
So all is now well.
We just have to put it together!
A job for tomorrow, I think!
How is your snow?

Hello, Elle!
Well your "free" delivery worked out quite well, for you!
It should be fairly straightforward to assemble tomorrow.
My snow is doing fine.
It has not shifted since morning.
About 2 inches on the ground and it is freezing.
It is meant to be less cold on Sunday, so maybe it will go then.
The winds have died down, though.
All is well!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I guess it was nice not to have to hump the package to and from the car!
It is very heavy!
Although we did of course have a completely wasted journey to Homebase!
I haven't opened the box yet to take a look, but if I wait long enough, the cat will have done it for me...... he is making quite good inroads with the outer packaging!
He likes pulling off the tape......
I have finally finished what I thought was today's 15 x15, only to find I was doing yesterday's puzzle!
Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter one way or the other........it has kept me entertained!
Weekend again...
What are you doing tomorrow?
Any plans?

Good morning, Elle!
Freezing here!
But the good news is it will be less cold from tomorrow!
Hope you get on fine with your TV table building!
The cat should be a help.
I have no plans today other than going for my paper although not sure which route to take.
Things are slippy out there!

Good morning, Rusty!
Very cold here, too!
0C early on...and only supposed to reach a high of 4C later.
Heavy frost everywhere.
Some vestiges of snow.
The lake is frozen and the paths are slippery.
It is best to walk on the grass.
I hope you made it out for your paper without mishap?
We do not have plans for today either - other than another walk later.
Oh, and to erect the new TV table!
I have just made a coffee, and am now going to look at the crosswords..........

To all dog owners (including me !) With the snow and ice expected the roads may well be gritted, if you walk your dog on gritted roads/paths please make sure that their paws are washed either by walking them through a few puddles away from the gritted surfaces or by dipping their feet in fresh water once at home. Every year hundreds of pets throughout the country become seriously ill and in some cases die because of the rock salt and antifreeze being used during the cold snap. Dogs and cats walk through the substances left by gritters trying to clear roads and car drivers defrosting their windscreens and then licking them off their paws. Consuming rock salt can cause dehydration, liver failure and pancreatitis, while antifreeze contains the chemical ethylene glycol, which can be lethal when ingested.

Hello, Elle!
It is a beautiful morning here, but Baltic!
I crunched my way along the snow covered paths to ASDA!
No slipping, either! Was quite pleasant, in fact.
Yes, walk on the grass, or a rough surface, and you should be fine.
I am home for the rest of the day now.
Have skiing to watch soon and the paper to read, then the crossword.
Exciting stuff!
Good luck with the table!
