Good afternoon, Rusty!
What are you up to?
Are you still watching the skiing, or has it finished now?
Was your weather fit to go out for a walk?
It is still pouring down here!
The family members arrived about 11.30 and left about half an hour ago to call into Sainsburys before it closes.
It was lovely to see them all.
Now for the update on the "new" TV!
I am very pleased with it!
It is a Sony, so a very good make , and has the same size screen as our previous television so that is good.
I can watch the programmes through either the television or the Freeview digibox, with recording through the Freeview box.
And will, of course, have full access to the Red Button channels when viewing solely through the Television!
(You will be relieved to hear that!)
And the table looks very nice - my misgivings were unfounded!
A satisfactory afternoon? Yes, indeed!

Hello, Elle,
Skiing is over.
Christine Scheyer won.
Then I watched a bit of a football game.
Miss O is going to go to pictures with me in a few weeks when the film is out.
She has seen the trailer of "La La Land" and likes it!
Your TV and table sound "the biz"!
Well done!
Sony, as you say, is a top make.
Is there a remote control with it?
There is less snow here than there was this morning.
Think there is a thaw under way!

Hi, Rusty!
I do not know Christine Scheyer?
I know some of the top names from hearing you talk about them, but she is not one of whom I have heard?
Yes, I have two remote controls! One for the TV and one for the Freeview box!
Daughter has lost the instruction booklet and you know how dependent I am on that!
So I made some notes (don't laugh!)
I am sure the Sony, Freeview and I will have a very happy menage a trois!
(Sorry, I cannot do the accents!)
Nothing to watch though tonight.......
I did the Everyman at midnight last night....... when it came out!
BB was amazed that I was planning to read "Alaska", when he discovered that there are 1,275 pages!

Hello, Elle!
Christine is an up and coming Austrian racer.
One of the Italian girls, Nadia Fanchini, had a horror crash in the practice run and was helicoptered off the mountain.
Not heard how she is doing.
You may find instructions for your TV online?
I hoped to watch the golf this evening but it is not on until late.
Coming from Hawaii, so quite a time difference.
Yes, "Alaska" is a proper read!
Will keep you going for a while!

Hey, Rusty!
I have had a good play with the new TV, altering the picture to suite etcetera.
I am liking it!
It also looks much better in our lounge...more streamlined as it is a flat screen.
Yes, I can get in touch with the manufacturer should I need to do so, to see if they can provide an instruction booklet.
My daughter is going to look to see if they have it, first, though.
I need some tennis now, so that I can try out the Red Buttons!!!
No cousin to talk to, tonight...she has taken her granddaughter home and will not be back until late.
And speaking of granddaughters...............ours will be seven tomorrow!
And BB five on Wednesday!

Hello, Elle!
That's good you and TV are getting on well!
The flat screens are much better, I find, and a lot lighter.
The Australian Open tennis starts tomorrow but it is not on Red Button.
It's on Eurosport. Both channels!
I access the BBC text service through the Red Button.
I can catch up with the News etc a lot quicker that way.
Any celebrations for the young ones?
My son is heading to Kenmore tomorrow for the opening of the Tay salmon fishing season.
They have a bit of a ceremony with pipers etc.
It will be chilly there!

Hi, Rusty!
I read a lot of the News on the computer when I log on in the mornings.
The computer is always on.......whereas the television rarely is.
And the BBC send me emails whenever there is a Newsflash.
That keeps me somewhat up-to-date.
Yes, both children are having "official" parties, next weekend, where friends from school mostly are invited.
It seems to be all the rage at the moment for the younger ones to invite the entire class!
Although fortunately that seems to tone down a bit as the child gets older.
For instance, our eldest grandson (9) now only invites about ten friends instead of a class of 30!
We shall go over to see our granddaughter at home and take her card and present.
And I think I told you that BB has invited us to a birthday tea at home on Wednesday for a cake with candles?
I forget which son is the fly fisherman?
Where is Kenmore?

Hello, Elle.
My friends in Norn Iron have a little girl aged 13.
It was her birthday recently and they booked a "party bus" for her.
Bit like a disco.
i think most of her class were there.
They all thought it was great.
I, needless to say, being an old fogey, had never heard of a "party bus"!
My youngest son is the fisherman.
Kenmore is a wee village on the edge of Loch Tay, where the river leaves the loch.
It is not far from Aberfeldy.
It is a nice part of the world.

Good morning, Rusty!
We have another very wet day here!
It was a decidedly poggy walk!
It necessitated cleaning a filthy dog and changing my soaking trousers!
(I do have a waterproof pair but cannot find them!)
I hope that the weather is better up your way for your son's trip to Kenmore?
It would be a shame were it to rain.
I have actually seen a party bus! although not in action!
We drive past a double -decker bus , duly labelled "party bus" and parked on the roadside, on our way to our daughter's house.
It is nearly always there, but I presume the owner hires it out for special occasions.
The bus is gaily painted in many colours and has pictures of balloons festooning it.
I am never near enough to see inside it.......
I wonder if it has all the seats removed? probably so, and is kitted out in some appropriate fashion?
Right, coffee needed.......

Good day, Elle!
Well, we have a beautiful day here and much milder.
Snow is pretty much gone, except piles of it at ASDA where the mini snow ploughs pushed it to the sides.
I was sent photos of the "party bus", (festooned with all manner of decorations) but none of the inside.
I do know it was a huge success, though!
I have not heard anything from Kenmore.
There is usually a "dignitary" performing the opening ceremony.
One year it was Fiona Armstrong (remember her?)
She is a keen salmon fisher.
I have had a wee look at the Aussie tennis.
I was surprised to see it is an indoor tournament?
Federer is on now.
How is the new TV behaving?
