Hello, Elle,
Gracious! You ask me more questions than my GP!
Just a bit under the weather, is all.
A bit shivery etc, Dr Elle!
It is a great day here too.
Just like yours. Blue sky, white frost.
Good you are seeing your family later.
Laura is captain of Team GB on Saturday!
I am staying home so no paper today.
About to attempt crossword online.
I much prefer doing it on paper!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I had a very enjoyable time out - lunch was delicious and the company good.
So Laura's new record was indeed ratified!
I am very glad to hear it.
Well done her!
That is quite an honour for her to captain Team GB on Saturday.
She is well qualified to do so though, I think.
Just waiting now for our son and granddaughter to arrive.
I made sure I was home in good time........but realistically I doubt they can be here much before 4 o'clock.
I shall take a look at the crossword in the interim......
Dare I ask if you are feeling any better?

Hello, Elle!
Glad you enjoyed your lunch.
I ate a pizza!
A strange race Laura ran in?
The rest of the field ran 3k and stopped, and Laura went on, on her own to 5k.
Liz congratulated her but wonders (like me) if it was a proper race and should the record stand?
Seems very unusual.
Wonder if it is on YouTube?
I am not quite tickety boo but seeing the Geep next week anyway, so I'll mention it to him then.

Hi, Rusty!
From what I can gather, the race was a "mixed" 3-5 km field.
I have never heard of this before, but seemingly the other competitors stopped running after 3km and Laura carried on alone.
British Athletics appears to have confirmed that this is a bona fide race and a genuine record- breaking time.
They say Laura's record stands.
To me , Liz McColgan's initial queries /objections sound very much like sour grapes?
She obviously didn't like having her previous record broken.
I still say, good for Laura!
(If you don't feel any better by tomorrow, maybe see the GP earlier than next week?)
Ooops, dog barking...I think they are arriving......

Hello, Elle!
I have not heard of this race before, too.
The other women raced to 3k and stopped, and stayed at the track cheering Laura on. I watched it.
To be fair to Liz her first tweet said congrats to Laura and she was happy to see her record go.
It was later she wondered about this "unique" race.
I'd say she was right to do so.
It can not be a proper 5k race if only one competitor runs 5k and the rest run 3ķ, surely?
They may have trouble ratifying the record.
Liz also said she lapped a young Paula Radcliffe during her record run.
A wee dig?
No, I'll see the Geep as planned.
I am looking forward to seeing him.
A very nice young man.
We get on well!

Hi, Rusty!
Our son and granddaughter have
left now.........it was very nice to see them both, especially together.
As I said earlier, usually we see our granddaughter with her mum.
I did tell you that our son has arranged for us to take Afternoon Tea at Claridges.......
He presented us with the official "voucher" today.
We can choose to go anytime within the next two years!
But it does have to be booked in advance.
We are looking forward to it but will probably wait for the lighter evenings so that we are not travelling home in the dark!
I still haven't taken the Christmas tree and the decorations down....they need to be down by Twelfth Night (tomorrow!)
The next festive occasions will be the children's birthdays this month!
Is your son still coming to see you this evening?
or have you warned him off in case he catches your "bug"?

Good evening, Elle!
My son is just away.
Hopefully he did not get my bug!
That was a fine visit you had!
"The lighter evenings"?
We would say "the lichty nichts!".
Sounds fine at Claridges!
I have left some Christmas cards up.
Miss O and me are going to Pine Cone tomorrow.
I am looking forward to it.
She may tell all about Paris!

Hi, Rusty!
That is good that you still saw your son.
And you are talking of going out with Miss O tomorrow.......so maybe you are beginning to feel a little better?
A good night's sleep might help........
The "lichty nichts" has a nice ring to it! I like it.
It is very cold and frosty out!
One can no longer tell that our car is a dark grey!
I hope the roads and pavements will not be slippery in the morning.
I have no special plans for tomorrow .......I shall just take it as it comes!

Hello, Elle!
There was a book, years ago, called "The Lichty Nichts".
It was about the Dundee dialect and was quite amusing.
Must have a look on Amazon to see if there is any there.
One thing "strangers" find very odd when they visit the city, is that we do not have "roundabouts" on our roads in Dundee.
We call them "circles"!
Not sure how that ever came about!
It is cold here. Frosty outside, but no wind.

Good morning, Rusty!
Another cold and frosty day.
The lake was frozen this morning.
But it is not a nice day, the sky is now horribly dark........
How are you this morning?
I hope you are feeling better?
Are you still up for going out to the Pine Cone with Miss O?
I am drinking coffee whilst writing this, but shall soon have to get around to taking down the Christmas tree!
