Yes, I did see "The Glen Miller Story" - I like his music!
James Stewart was great in that.
Did you see "Harvey"?
James Stewart plays a wealthy drunk called Elwood P. Dowd, whose best friend is a six - foot, three-and-a-half-inch tall, invisible rabbit called Harvey.
Elwood's sister tries to get him committed to a mental home as she thinks he has gone insane.
I think the film was described as a comedy-drama, but it was so sad in parts, I was in tears.
James Stewart was wonderful.
One of his best films, I thought.

No, Have not seen Harvey, but I did see another film in which James Stewart speaks to his wife by her grave; I can't remember the name of the film, but that particular part was very moving. Would you know the film I mean?

On a very different note, I very much liked Rainman - what part for Dustin Hoffman - but there again, he is such a wonderful actor (well I think so !)

Go to YouTube, type "Babe" and the first entry is the last few minutes of the film.
Babe and The Quiet Man are my two favourite films.
Christmas is great for the old films.
I would think Babe is bound to be on.

I have watched an excerpt of "Babe".
That was fascinating!
How is it done? how do they make an animal apparently "talk"?

Now I am wondering whether your liking for "The Quiet Man" might have something to do with its female star.....??
I think my favourite film of all time has to be "To Kill A Mocking Bird".
But there are other old favourites that I like..... "High Society" (Bing Crosby) is one.....
"The Great Escape" is another (I do like Steve McQueen!)
I watch "Pretty Woman" every time they repeat it!
"Little Women" - the Winona Ryder version based on Louisa May Alcott's book - always goes down well too.
No, our daughter took the train home.
The Gatwick Express is very quick to Victoria (30 minutes) and then she just has to take another local train to reach home, which is only five minutes walk from the station.
Driving to collect her would have entailed an eighty mile round trip!
