"Listened" is a sounds like indicator for "knew" understood) = "new".

THanks chrise for explanation. I know from an earlier posting that you had trouble with 22A. IT is the only one I have left to do and Quick Solve does not appear to know this word!!! I have ? A? U?. BEst not tell me yet.
