......though I don't think the grammar - specifically the "from" - is quite right.

If you "ignore the odds" in "worse marks" you get OSAK or OSMRS (depending on whether your regard it as one word or two) don't you?

The problem I have is that to get the answer (I agree with yours), you need to "pick" rather than "ignore" the odd letters.
