Continuing my attempt to get into cryptics, I need explanations for the following clues:
20A Letters received, making job secure . Answer: POSTBAG.

2D Having broken rules, squadron leader quits. Answer: RESIGNS

14D Proprietor getting some children worked up. Answer: OWNER

I can see the definitions, but not the wordplay.

Squadron leader S in REIGNS (rules)

childRENWOrked contains OWNER "up" - reversed since it's a downclue.

job is a POST, to secure something is to BAG it.

Post - job - bag - secure postbag - letters received?
Owner is backwards in the clue "worked up " in a down clue indicates this.
Reigns - rules borken by "leader" of squadron - s?

post = job
bag (as a verb) = secure
