I think it's CREATION - "re" could be "on", so take it from RECREATION (fun)

Creation - you just take the Re('on'/on the subject etc) away from Recreation, fun.

No, I never attempt the "tricksy" ones (except once, for lack of any other entertainment, a Mephisto, which, rather to my surprise, I nearly finished).
