A competition to compose the best cryptic clue, judged by your fellow contestants.

You may enter as many clues as you wish and everybody is welcome to have a go.

Feel free to explain your clue if you think it will help, or ask another setter to parse their clue.

Everybody who enters may vote for their favourite clue. Please include the post number.
Also, please refrain from commenting on entries until voting has begun.

Please post your clues by UTC 14:00 Friday, May 1, when voting opens.
Voting deadline – 22:00 That seems to be the favourite time-frame.

As there are international participants, here is a link to check the time:
http://time.is/UTC

The entry with the most votes wins and its composer hosts the next week's competition.
The host has a deciding vote in the event of a tie and may change the rules, & times, if necessary.
It is customary for the host to award an online prize when declaring the winner.

The answer to be clued is: GALLEY SLAVE (6,5)

-----------------------------------
With my current schedule, & the time zone, Fridays are somewhat iffy.
However, I will check in & track the voting.
It's usually clear but in case of a tie my decision might be a little late.
