Can,t believe I've been so thick. (Well,actually I can).
My very feeble excuse is that I was looking for arc as part of a circle.
Very enjoyable puzzle. But would anyone under the age of 100 be familiar with the theme?

.. . but the graphic seems to be missing a pair of important fetures?
Is the thematic six cell statement anything to do with the catchphrase that usually goes with the graphic?

(Back on the air again) Nelson: I know what you mean, but the other features are missing, presumably that would have been too much.
And yes, the statement is just like all those one was used to from this character. I was born during that war, but remember the cartoons that continued afterwards. Have you checked out the history of Kilroy online? Unbelievably complicated, or rather unclear!
As for being thick-headed, it took me ages to see the "obvious", too, if that's any comfort!
Main thing is, I learned a lot, and in the end was amused!
Hope EV's not too difficult today!

Talking of missing features, I don't think it's a coincidence that there are two O's in the fourth row down around the middle.

With fresh eyes I see it all now. DJ, wait till she's old enough to go out clubbing. Then you'll really know about sleepless nights. Thanks everyone.

Can anyone help me parse 15A? It's clear what the answer is, and I'm certain the superfluous letter must be the T, both from how it fits the others around it and how it leaves the clue; but beyond that... the definition's plain and I can see either an "old boy" or just a "boy about short...", but neither helps me understand the rest.

Please forgive me if this is already answered earlier in the thread; I'm carefully avoiding reading back, here, as - despite having most of the top half of the grid - I haven't cracked the theme yet and don't want help there.
