Can anyone help with the parsing for this, (The word 'Tale' in the clue should be ignored)

7d. Thoroughly spoil upstanding useless tale? That's devious (7) - TORTUOUS (Devious)

Hi Brendan, (thoroughly = out +rot = spoil) upstanding gives tortuo + us = unserviceable (useless).

Thanks Ginge, it was the 'US' part I just could not figure out, although now you've pointed it out, I think I've seen it before (I think Mamya parsed it as 'Useless' once before, ages ago, but I could be wrong). Also....

28d. Club-line's jackets on outer porch again (6) - ORPHAN

It's the 'Jackets' of O(ute)R P(orc)H A(gai)(N - but I can't see a definition. I know there are some clues in this crossword that don't have definitions, but I'm fairly sure this isn't one of them.

Hi Dj, I took your advice and tried another Listnener, and, I'm pleased to say, I managed to finish (Including 'Highlighted word' and the word to be written at the bottom. That said, once again this is at the 'easy' end of the scale, still, I'll take it.

I only have access to the online Chambers and it's not given in that, but I did manage to find another reference that gave it as term used in printing, so I'm happy. Thanks again and thanks Ginge.
