gandolf34 - some of your queries would be answered by having a Chambers - perhaps a visit to your local library? If you're a fan of these Rainbow quizzes, it might be worth investing in a copy as so many words you think you know the meaning of, have another completely different meaning as well that the Rainbow setters seem to discover.

According to Chambers, sops do mean puddles. And if you were able to look up spoon there, a meaning would be 'to run before a gale..'

I have different answers for 45 and 33.

59. I believe the root of this plant is used for tapioca - the fool is contained in a wine, sometimes used instead of champagne

Thanks Ladybee - I actually do have a Chambers, but it is currently in storage! At least that sorts out 41 and 93. Thought Got the chop was rather good for 45, but pretty sure my answer to 33 is right, so must be a better answer for 45 - will work on it….

gandolf34 - I also have 'got the chop' for 45 and don't see how you have the third word for no.33. I have a simple 4 letter vegetable which when reversed is a boat.

74. Anagram of 'a lass arcade'

95. Three letter word for whip which surrounds a word to describe someone who belongs to a club and the whole thing is a nine letter cheese

31. A type of sausage. A word for unfortunately (written backwards) and I think the first motorway.
