I'm struggling (as usual!) Please could someone help me with a couple of clues to kick start me?
1 down: Mellow principal putting East German in charge briefly (6) COS???
25 down: Lippy youngster goes up to flatten bully (5) ?U???
The definitions may need correcting.
Thanks in advance

I haven't seen this puzzle and cannot believe this to be right as it is so obscure, but....

C = charge briefly
OSTEB = German word for East

COSTEN was the surname of principals, secretaries or directors of a company called Mellow Developments.

Surely that is too obscure an answer?

sorry about the typo with B appearing instead of N - the German for east is OSTEN.

Sorry, have to correct:
1d Answer is co-star = Fellow principal;German east = OST Inside car(e) = charge ............so F is your new letter
25d Answer bucko: means bully; cub=youngster, reversed; not sure about OK and lippy & flatten, but it's defo correct.
Complicated ones, and the whole thing is too, but very worthwhile when you get there (you will know the target if not all the characters' names) --- and take a look at the relatively long thread that already exists for further help!
