On a previous thread you asked me to put you out of your misery!
My father used to use the expression 'worm of the first order'. Seeing that a 4 letter answer was required I jumped straight in. Unfortunately he died in 1993 so I can't ask him where it came from. I can't find it on Google either.
He was Dorset born and bred so maybe it was a local expression.

Thank you Rossim. I've never hear it said myself. BUT, worm = a weak or despicable person and of the first-order = primary or most fundamental. So, "that chap is a worm of the first-order " would be a clear statement of opinion, eh?

That's what I thought!
Why was the answer Adam?

Sorry I won't be able to do 5@5 this afternoon. I have an appointment with the optician but I will look in later.
