I have a question that has two possible answers, so I need help because I do not know which answer to use.

Question: Cave deposits......Stala??ites

Possible answers: Stalactites or Stalagmites

I would say stalagmites as they are deposited at the bottom of the cave

I was just about to say the opposite ! - stalactites!
Only because stalagmites grow FROM stalactites! a drip from a stalactite forms on the floor of the cave into a stalagmite, which then grows upwards.
So a stalactite comes first......

I agree stalctites drip onto the floor ,but the result are the stalagmites which are the deposits ?

Not sure, Jazzy? the stalactite is forming from water passing through limestone? Pause while I look this up further......
