'Lose heart' = become dispirited (Def) but cannot fully parse, please ?

Hi elle
Sounds like "Looe's heart" (Looe being the cornish port)
A bit feeble to use "heart" in both - not a homophone.

It's not very good, though, is it? The 'Looe' part could have had potential, but somehow it doesn't follow through? or am I still missing something?
