I have to say I think that this is the worst seasonal crossword that then Herald has produced. Not surprised that the setter is MCC.

We've done about half but there are just too many included lights and no theme that jumps out at you.

I'm still a bit puzzled by some of the regular clues. is 36 ac ANGELO? 18, 27, 21 and 28 all evading me (though i've some ideas, none of which do much for me.

37 ac/dn also a puzzle.
