Evening folks.

I'll be back in one hour or so, however, before I do, could I just beg a little clarification from a few word plays to see if I've got them right or maybe missing something. I have fully parsed the rest of the clues apart from the following:

Paul @ 6 / Is it APR (rate) + 1 City (one city of Cape Town)

Mattrom @ 9 / How are you extracting the 'H' from the anagram fodder of 'Hairy Pict' ?

Peterm @ 10 / I'm seeing this as follows peter,
A tricky day = April 1st (using the first (1st) part of APRI (L) + CITY (Florence) ... am I correct?

AB @ 16 / I'm seeing Brum as 'Birmingham which is a City but I'm snookered on the rest (pardon the pun) ab, an explanation would be appreciated.

If these setters don't get back to me soon, if anyone else can shed light, then feel free.

See ya all later

Keeping up the obscure words theme-
Brumal - relating to winter, wintry

Abask - basking in sunshine

Brum, al a bask = Brumal abask - wintry glowing in sunshine?

Mattrom may cringe at my ignorance but as she/he may not get the chance to explain. In "Uncouth hairy Pict cavorting in the heat of the winter sun" could "uncOut H" be a means of saying out h with cavorting the anagrind?
