Yes, thanks, Ruby - I finished it this morning - I just had a few parses to battle with! didn't want give in too soon and ask for explanations - all sorted now though!

I can't parse 6d though I have the solution. -- Drink--two words for it. Is it just that it's a two-word drink or does IT refer to the beginning of the first word? Happy new year to all of you!

Italian vermouth is the generic term for Martini or Cinzano. It was the "It" in "gin and it" or a variation on a dry martini
